I get colour fade and pinking on LoS but never seen it so yellow, WAMS. Mine doesn’t enjoy heatwaves very much, so I had to move it into more shade. Apologies for the fuzzy photo!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I don't know anyone who doesn't like 'Desdemona'... very useful when a white shrub rose is required. I find the best scent is on the early blooms in May/June when they also seem to be at their largest and fullest.. although September blooms are right up there too..
This is my Lady of Shallot in a pot at my old house in Dordogne. I rather wish I'd taken her to my new house when I moved 2 years ago but her pot was very heavy. I dug her up and gave her to my daughter to plant in the ground in her garden instead as I wasn't sure of the date of my move.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Lol... eek @Nollie. I'd have picked that for a fried Rose des Cisterciens, never LoS in a million years. Rose des Cisterciens is a fab rose, too.👇
Does Desdemona bloom almost continuously or is there a rest between flushes? I was a bit disappointed how small her blooms were when I saw her, but that might have been during the heatwave.
Yes, continuous more or less, any gap is brief.. the blooms produced late July/August can be smaller, more rounded, with less scent and fullness.. but in large clusters though..
Nice Lady of Shalott in an attractive country setting..
Oh I have worse than LoS! To be fair that was in 40+c when it was in my south-facing bed, where Munstead Wood is a sun-loving trouper, incidentally. If DA really want to know which of their roses are climate resilient, they only have to ask 😆
How about a crispy critter DeeLish, earlier in the season, in far less heat and morning sun only. I was really shocked by how heat sensitive it was..

Thanks, @Marlorena... your pics of Desdemona are very nice.
@newbie77 a month? Is there absolutely no one you can ask to come in and drench your pots once a week? Or can you get a timed sprinkler? I must say a holiday sounds nice, though.😀

Now I am wondering what can I do to increase chances of survival for my roses. May be dig an area in garden in shade and plant out from pots.
