I'll start with the purples, my favourite colour! Twice in a Blue Moon, new last year, a few blooms that started with a very medical fragrance and then later blooms turned into old rose fragrance. And what should have been a twice, but ended up being a Blue Moon. So @zugenie there are more of us that like this old rose.😁 Plus my good old Blue for You, a fantastic rose that gives and gives, filling the garden with scent.
Thanks WAMS, most of those only have brief purple patches but I enjoy the fleeting pleasure. Stormy Weather is the most consistent.
I’m looking forward to my Blue for You @purplerallim, inspired by yours. I was seriously in need of another lavender as I only have Love Song at present.
My top five roses go up and down, but Soul is always up there. Yours looks gorgeous @cooldoc and I’m glad it’s doing well for you. Love it’s fragrance, blooms and health. Mine is predominantly red::
But can also be pink:
My one remaining officially red rose, Cramoisi Superieur:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Been digging and moving roses. Excellenz von Schubert has been moved to a pot in a shadier and hopefully cooler location, it really suffered in the heat last year. It’s spot now occupied by previously potted Guy Savoy. He now needs some companions:
At last, Gertrude Jekyll has been allocated a hole in the ground vacated by a wimpy and now potted Ebb Tide. I just need to extract it from that humongous pot it’s been busting out of for several years. Gulp!

Fingers crossed for you @Nollie that it takes to your conditions.🤞 As for reds.... Last year a new patio climber Love song. My Anniversary presents Ruby Wedding And yes it is the same rose, just that is how it develops. Both have what I would call light fragrance. And my standard which says red, but comes out bi- coloured in different temperatures, no scent.
@WAMS what a lovely offer! New Zealand special chocolate biscuits yum yum ! Thank you. Sorry I didn’t try to root Kathryn Morley cuttings this year and I was only after Munstead wood, LEH and The Prince. But will definitely will try to root some cuttings for you soon.
@cooldoc beautiful Twilight Zone , gorgeous Forever Royal @Marlorena, amazing purple lodge & Soul @Nollie and colourful Blue for you @purplerallim and I am definitely adding these next year!
