@Nollie Hi Nollie...missed the discussion on 'Boscobel', it's rapidly become my 2nd favourite rose (after Lady of the Lake). I'm growing it in a large square pot in a very sunny, hot position which it seems to love, and is always full of these delicious looking pinkish, coral blooms. Very healthy with very little blackspot etc. AND the blooms are held upright which is always a bonus in my experience with a David Austin. Word of warning though, it seems to be a magnet for the ghastly sawfly, I'm forever picking them off.
I've missed the set colour pictures of roses but I don't have that many so I'll put them on anyway Some are older pictures favourite picture of certain roses .
Malvern Hills . I planted mine similar time ( and Ghislaine ) to Mr vine but his this doing far better than mine , I lost a whole stem last winter but grown really well and starting to grow over shed.
Ghislaine de .F
Lady of Shallot - Late summer / Autumn Lady of shallot - Early Summer
Golden Celebration. I have a love relationship with GC the flowers are stunning its just everything else . I am trying to get it to grow big / tall but it just doesn't want to . may consider evicting for another yellow rose Desdemona probably the best repeat flowering rose I grow , I'll put it in the garden eventually .
Mary Rose its the first rose I bought cost a tenner . Unfortunately its been evicted to the garage site which is opposite side of the beech hedge in the background. Eustace Vye bottom left . I got Gabriel Oak at the same time but I don't have anything to show for that one it been a poor rose , hopefully this year it will buck up. Best year ever last year for Paul Scarlet Generous Gardener possibly the best picture I've ever took of a rose, I won a photo comp on another garden forum with this beauty
What a selection of great and colourful roses today... so many I would like in my garden..
@peteS Your 'Boscobel' is just how it should be.. I'm another who got too much of the salmon pink for my liking..
@Tack What do you think of 'Timeless Purple' so far?.. lovely photos as always.. 'Rambling Rosie' is a sparkler..
@purplerallim Do you notice a great difference between those two? From your photos I think I prefer 'Twice...' I've heard it said that it's difficult to tell one from another..
@Marlorena I find Timeless Purple is pretty flawless once you accept it is a pinky purple, it just made my purple cut off. It is healthy, has good growth shape, upright blooms, strong scent, distinct flushes. The name is too boring though, more supermarket bargain hunter rather than impressive rosarian More fantastic pictures of fabulous roses @Rojas. How many do you have?
That could have been the problem I had @Marlorena , as when they were sent I got one of each instead of two twice! They did send me a replacement. After their first year I think the difference is in growth habit. Blue Moon has grown tall and thin, before its trim, with fewer flowers. Twice is shorter and bushier, with more flowers, with less to trim off this spring. I didn't like the medical smell and was disappointed at first, but with the second flush the Twice blooms became old rose fragrance, not strong, but lovely. Now to see how they do in their second year.
Thanks @peteS, lovely photos of Boscobel, it grows really well for you.
Fabulous roses and companions @Perki. I also have a love-hate relationship with Golden Celebration, more love really, but mine won’t stay compact, it throws out huge, long octopus canes and I totally underestimated the space it wants to occupy!
Loving everyone’s lavenders, purples and variations in between.
There will be photos coming of the Gertie saga..

Nollie, your Soul is miles ahead of mine.. Thanks for suggesting Soul.. good luck with your GJ.. will be a task for sure..
@Busy-Lizzie Dr Jamain had a bad blackspot reputation.. that kept me from buying it.. plus wasn't sure how good the flowering would be..
Imprevu that secateurs in black look tough..
@purplerallim interesting standard you got there..
@Tack my pick is Odyssey and Blue river..
Agree with Marlorena on that Boscobel..
@Perki I am glad you posted all those pics.. loved the companion planting.. be it the same colour spectrum or the opposite one..
@Rojas again.. impressive.. with those Austins..
