Seen Wishbone Ash more times than I've seen any other band. That album is an absolute classic and one of my top ten ever!

You two do know that they’re at Buxton tomorrow night and Derby on Saturday don’t you?

Yes thanks @Dovefromabove :)  But we're not really ready to take the Covid proximity risk just yet, plus there is only one remaining member from the original band so I'm not that tempted anyway.

I saw a different version of the band at Buxton Opera House a few years ago though, along with Focus (well Thijs van Leer's band).

Buxton is quite a journey from here. I had friends there some years ago, sadly no longer with us.

Yes played in Chelmsford a few years and and that was a great concert.
Saw Rick Wakeman's roller parked outside the venue - no. plate RW1 - it was a really good evening.
But it just wasn't the same as when I was a 20-something..

Ah. If only Joe Strummer were still alive. My most seen band, and, London Calling, my favourite album of all time.

  • We see Mr Wakeman quite a bit ... he lives not far away ... Mrs W was a regular customer at the farm shop where OH used to work ... Mr W usually paced around in the car park (looking at cars?) but occasionally popped into the shop for something he fancied.  Nice quiet man.  If we see an interesting car we always have a look at the driver to see if it's Mr W ... sometimes it is  B)

Pink Floyd were the first really massive band I saw, 1974, Birmingham City Hall.

The very first rock concert I went to had Mott the Hoople and Wishbone Ash on the bill. I was a youngster back then and my ears rang for days! I have always loved that album, @Pete.8
Thank you all for a lovely thread- a real nostalgia trip for me.

Saw Pink Floyd at earls court on the anniversary of dark side... Can't remember think it was either the twentieth or twenty fifth anniversary. Played the entire album all the way through as well as selection of all the best from all the albums up to that point. It was incredible!! I was about 19 at the time 😀
