Good morning all. Work this morning then I am gathering ingredients for Christmas cake making on Monday.Fiancé is catering for a birthday party for 30 people tonight. Dry here at the moment but I think we have rain forecast later. Happy Saturday everyone !
Good morning Debs. I was looking at my cake ingredients yesterday. I need to get my fruit into sherry to soak. Was work as nice as you expected yesterday? I hope so, and that today is similar.

It’s only 4 hours and the Saturday pharmacist is a sweetheart so should be a good day it’s just this dragging myself out of bed in the morning I dislike. I need to get ground cloves and mixed spice and fiancé has expressed a fancy for cranberries in the cake so jay have a look. Big “sco near where I work may have some.
Good morning everyone .Debs it doesn’t seem long since Christmas cakes were being baked last year .Love the smell of them cooking. LB are you baking several cakes this year ?My mother used to make six .She gave four away as gifts .
I made a spiced apple and dried fruit cake yesterday when we came back from Norwich. It's for the charity craft fair which I'm helping at later this morning.
First we are going to the Farmers' Market in the village hall. We'll have a bacon roll and a coffee there for brekkies.
LB, we had seafood filled ravioli in a tomato and basil sauce with big prawns.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I decided to stay little bit longer in bed this morning. It was a nice change. Outside is windy and grey, no rain. Perfect day for stay in and read. Now tea. I like how this word C****s appears lately around.
Morning all.It looks like it's rained heavily again overnight, the grass is quite soggy these days but still growing( impossible to cut). I can almost smell all the wonderful cakes which are going to be baked, unfortunately I'm no baker, nor really like baking, but I can imagine! Toobird, I think your next trip away sounds really nice ( and interesting). I bet there will be much planning again soon! Have a good day everyone,
Good morning Ruby, Busy, Ante and Hazel. Now it has got light I am very pleased to say that the day looks bright and sunny. Perhaps not quite as nice as last week but it will do for me. Bird feeders have been filled and I need to take something to the compost bin later.
Ruby, I will be making a few C*******s cakes this year - not decided how many as yet and I need to think about fitting as many into the oven as possible to save on energy, so they will be smaller.
Yummy yummy Busy - a delicious meal for sure. I am partial (Ante = fond of) to seafood. Hope all goes well at the craft fair today and lots of money is made.
Ante, enjoy your peaceful morning. How is little cat doing now?
Hazel, enjoy your day too. I'm sure that you will be able to have another grass cutting session soon.

Morning LB. Little cat is excellent, and she behaves normally. I gave her yesterday one antibiotic injection, and she has one more for tomorrow. Next Friday we have appointment at vet office.
Afternoon all. Ante, that is such good news about little cat. She might get a bit nervous being taken back to the Vet again on Friday though.
There have been further developments on the house alarm the other day. My neighbour from the attached house (not the one with the alarm) came round today to tell me some disturbing news. A attempted burglary had been made on the back of her house and the perpetrator had attempted to jemmy the lock on the back door. Thank goodness they had not managed to get in but neighbour showed me pictures of the damage done to the door. She notified the police and we have had CSI round here today. I am very impressed at the speed of the response. They suspect that the burglars may be after car keys as recently a car was stolen from a driveway in the village. It seems my house escaped attention (or maybe my car didn't impress them!) as they tried at the neighbour's across the way (the one with the alarm). I reckon my trees and shrubs put them off bothering with my house - no easy access. CSI have gone now, having dusted everywhere for fingerprints and another police officer will be coming out tomorrow. Not sure what that is all about.
Neighbour was worried about telling me as she thought I might be frightened. Little did she know (though she does now) I am not a nervous type at all. I shall however, remain vigilant about my security.
