I'm glad your little cat has recovered @Ante1.Β Β Β
We are taking OH's car for a minor repair today. Will also drop off some plants @Dovefromabove's but I'm not sure what time. Garage is us lending a car, don't know how long the repair will take. OH wants to go to M&S to buy some trousers.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning everyone . Ante good to hear that your little cat is quickly on the mend.Debs enjoy your day .LB enjoy your trip into town .Busy I am sure Dove will be pleased with your plants .Enjoy your day .
Morning all. Very dark here today and we, too, are expecting rain later in the day. Sky is white at the moment. SM run and then to the famous DIY store for gravel and will try and get it down pre rain, so it will get a good wash then. I hope those in work have a decent day today, LB fingers crossed your lens will be just fine( another job ticked off). I never realised BG mended such things as light pulls as we had their Home Cover for many years but they just did the boiler service etc. Perhaps your insurance is an upgraded one compared to what we had? Popping over to sons over the weekend as it's his partners birthday. Will see 23 againπ Hope @Topbird has got her new fence sorted out now and is getting on top of all her garden work/jobs. We still have some major pruning to do before the end of this month so will have to find some energy to do that soon. @Busy-Lizzie ,Busy, hope your OH manages to find some trousers that he likes. MY OH despairs nowadays in M and S as they all seem to be the skin tight ones available up Β here.
Busy busy as per usual You will be meeting yourself coming backwards (as my Grandma used to say) one of these days. I do hope that the damage to the car does not involve one of those serious looks and a deep intake of breath through the teeth of the engineer.
I had planned to take down the fly screen curtain at the back door but it started tipping down, so that task has slid to the bottom of the list. speaking of lists, I have more items to add to the shopping list.
Ruby, I guess we will be getting out our crafty things soon as the weather stops or holds us up from gardening.

LB yes i am knitting a scarf at the moment .I have sent for a pattern book of knitted teddyβs . I have several patterns but the book I have sent for are old fashioned teddyβs . I am looking forward to knitting some of them.
Morning all and welcome home LB if I didn't say it already - glad to hear you had a lovely holiday.
Busy day yesterday with emails etc to sort then sorting out a border and cutting the grass plus making a cottage pie and stewing quinces ready for making jelly. I now how 'Quince Cutter's Wrist' - they are so flipping hard to cut into and there were a lot to prep.Β
Also spent a lot of time online as we've decided to go back to Germany for 10 days in a couple of weeks. Going to be mainly in Leipzig to do some museums and Werningerode in the Harz mountains to see some lovely scenery and maybe do a well known mountain train ride up the Brocken (bit of an all day job). The town is a bit of a pretty chocolate box too. We'll also fit in a couple of spa / saunas on the outward and return journeys.
Today I made an early call at the pharmacist to collect my repeats. For possibly the first time ever I didn't have to wait for ages to be served. Maybe they've finally been able to resolve their staffing problems.π€
Ante - good to hear your little cat is making a good recovery. I had one of next door's cats on the bench curled up in my fleece half-supervising my gardening efforts yesterday. I do miss having a cat of my own sometimes....
It's raining now so I'm going to paint a wall that's been awaiting my attention for 10 years (on the stairs so a bit tricksy with the ladders). OH is under strict instructions to be around in case I fall off!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
The forecast was grim enough here for the builders to have the day off. However, the gaffer turned up solo, when it turned out that it wasn't hissing down as much as anticipated.Β
After boring you all with the saga of the fence panels across the back of the garden earlier this year, I've now started on the side!! The panel behind my compost bin was like mush so I've peeled off the slats and chucked the soggy mess. I can replace it with one of two that the builders kindly put to one side (the part of the boundary they were occupying will become a brick wall) but will need to cut to size. Not sure I fancy doing that today whilst the weather is so meh.
Evening all. T'Bird, I am envying your new holiday plans. It sounds as though you will have a wonderful time in Germany. Just be careful going up that ladder. We don't want to hear of any nasty accidents.
@Biglad, believe it or not, I wasn't bored hearing about your fence. My handy brother regales me with all of his tales. Think you did right not trying to do the cutting on such a wet day.
Busy, I hope that tomorrow is a more pleasant day for your shopping expedition. After I picked up my new lenses today I went to 'sco and achieved all I set out to do and got home by about 13:00.
Hazel, my Homecare includes electrical faults, plumbing trouble and drains - up to my curtilage. I have it for my peace of mind as I know that once I actually do get through to them they have the necessary people out to sort any problem very quickly.
Heads up for those who don't know. Gardeners World is on tonight and not Friday. I suspect it may be Children in Need on Friday but I'm not sure.

It poured with rain this morning so we didn't go shopping but the car won't be ready until tomorrow so we'll try again then.
