Sorry you are under the weather Dove. By coincidence, I’ve just read an article on the BBC website about guts and the benefits of certain foods. Might step up my fibre intake, don’t fancy being prescribed faecal implants! Of course, we might be unintentionally getting a course of those when we eat out, just not the good bacteria.

Thanks @Ergates ... I'm a big believer in the benefits of a healthy gut flora and lots of good bacteria ... but maybe OH is right about washing the tomatoesĀ  :/Ā

At least our Wifi is back on again ... hurrah!

Oh, just read that MiKhail Gorbachev has died ... he must've been so disappointed by the direction Putin has steered for Russia ...Ā

Gorbachev was all over the late news last night.Ā  It's such a shame that so much of his good work is being undone now.Ā
Need to get to the plots today , haven't been so much everything is slowing down, but I'm very pleased to note my gamble on a late second batch of climbing beans seems to have worked.Ā  The French ones are beginning to crop already and the Moonlight runners are in full flower. If it stays mild I should have beans well into OctoberĀ  or more at this rate.Ā

    Morning all.

I've just read about Gorbachev too. If only Russia could produce another President like him.

I hope you feel better soon @Dovefromabove. I rarely wash home grown veg. It's more often meat and fish products, or bugs from someone else, that cause tummy bugs.

Sunny outside but not that warm, nippy breeze.

Hope Moira is recovering from her op OK @punkdoc.Ā  And I think you've got to keep trying @Busy-Lizzie.Ā  Maybe worth going back to your GP to see if they can do something to expedite matters?
Sorry you are feeling poorly @Dovefromabove.Ā  I'm still under the weather from the migraine and have now developed cystitis, dammit.Ā  No appointments to get antibiotics (the only thing that works) until tomorrow and a meeting tonight, which I chair.Ā  I'm beginning to think it is all stress related because I'm organising the Food & Drink Festival, hot on the heels of being part of the Black Shuck Festival.
What I really need is a good day in the garden!Ā  Perhaps later in the week...

@didyw OH went to his GP on Friday. His GP wrote another letter to the hospital.

I had expected Sainsbugs to have ironing water, soda crystals and an outdoor thermometer, but they didn't. B&Q had soda crystals, Wilko said they normally had ironing water and thermometers but they were out of stock. I get the feeling that it's harder to find various things than it used to be. I had trouble finding SR flour, caster sugar and Haywards pickled onions (for son) last time I was here.

I don’t know what ironing water is, Ā distilled? Ā Or through a home water filter machine. Maybe hardware shop, Ā  Tesco have everything else you’ve mentioned. Ā I use soda crystals in every wash.Ā

Ironing water is scented distilled water that doesn't scale up the iron. Morrisons and Waitrose usually do it. Tesco didn't have it or soda crystals the other day. I use soda crystals to clean drains and to get the grease off the tiles at the back of the cooker.
