Hi @Lyn I’m very jealous of your red ripe peppers as mine are still green. Every day I check but no luck yet. Is there anything I can do to help? They are Romano and outside in pots against a south facing wall as I haven’t got any space in my greenhouse. This is my first year of growing peppers so very inexperienced and wonder if I should take some of the leaves off, like tomatoes. Btw I’m feeding them weekly 👍
I’ve grown mine in the conservatory as usually the climate here isn’t right for them, I’m sure where you are they are fine outside, they will go red, just give them time, I did cut the lower leaves off but not for the sake of the peppers. (Only Philippa will understand😀)
A lot of mine are still green, they’re nice to eat like that if you want to use a couple, but be assured, they will ripen.
I have fed mine only twice at the beginning, they are in home made compost so had a head start.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
The growing season for peppers here is February and March or July to September in central Florida and north Florida. In southern parts of the state, August to September is the best month for planting.

Climate in UK is very very different from Florida.
Much colder, not as much sun, wetter.
