I experimented by planting 1 seed from a pepper, which is growing on my window sill. It's about 2 foot high. Plenty of leaves but no flowers. Can anyone help please.?
Do you mean Chilli peppers or bell peppers?

  • Thank you for all your answers. I have decided to cut my losses and try next year.

These things are going to take over the conservatory,  the peppers are now 8” long and still green,  will they turn red now?

They're  only bunched together for their photo shot, usually spaced out.

  • The Frigitelli's are slowly ripening here @Lyn.  The Palermo's are JUST thinking about it - sorry about that  :/

That’s good then @philippasmith2. I was beginning to give up hope,   The bell type turn so quickly.

  • Sometimes you just can't win @Lyn.  When we left you in Dec '18,  that first summer I did Palermo outside ( no GH then ) in pots against the south facing wall.  They ripened well without any cover !  Same  ones now but seem to need a lot more heat - awkward beggars but the leaves at least are still useful for the T's.

Perhaps I should stand them outside.

Worth a try @Lyn as they need lots of sunlight to ripen.   Bring them indoors at night if temps dip.

Is the sunlight outside different to inside, my conservatory gets sun from morning till night, i’ll put a couple out and see.
