  • I was meaning to ask about your peppers @Lyn.  Nearly all my Frigitelli have now ripened - the Palermos always slower.

Thrilled with them,  we’ve had them green, very nice,  will grow them again.
They’ve only in our homemade compost and small pots, so doubly thrilled.

@philippasmith2. Did you say the seeds were from the year before harvest?  I’ve always sown them fresh but every one of yours germinated.  If so I’ll save the seeds.

  • The Frigitellos were from an unopened  packet I was given last year, packed in 2019 with a sow by date of 2022.  My first year growing them.  I've still got a few seeds which I'm going to do next year.  I've noticed how prolific the seeds are in the ripe fruit so I thought I'd save some and see if it works. If you want some of the original seeds, let me know.
Like you, I've always bought a couple of Palermo's and sown fresh - always worked so far.  I'm pretty sure I used the same method when I grew Bell peppers but I haven't done them for a few years now.
I've done away with the Palermos now - I use a lot of them green over the winter months to add to various stuff.  They freeze well and I got fed up with waiting for them to ripen this year as well as being a bit short of space !

They’re away now,  all turning,  lovely size as well. I will save seeds Philippa,  thank you for send them to me.  The biggest one is 9.5”.
OH is laughing,  don’t know why 😀😀

  • Looking good @Lyn.  They were certainly worth growing weren't they.  I can hear R from here  :D
