Parts of Essex get only 20cms of rain some years, less than the Sahara.  West of the Pennines gets more rain than the east but there are also rain shadows within hilly areas.

Location, soil and aspect are all key to working out when and what you can plant and grow in your garden.

I don’t really know how much rainfall we get,  south west edge of Dartmoor.  Always seems a lot.

It feels like it never rains here 🙁
    I'm only about 3 miles from B3.
I too never see signatures, so am oblivious to any location info there.

Definitely not here,  we’re 960ft above,  so a very didn’t climate to other places in Devon.  Nothing gets planted out until the end of May but usually into June.

Yes people have definite perceptions about places like Devon and I'm guilty of that too. Similar in Cheshire I suppose. Most of it is pretty flat and low-lying but we're 750ft above so gardening here is a bit more challenging. Plenty of rain though!

It feels like it rarely rains in noth London. Most of the forecasts for heavy rain never seem to land where we are and get all disappointed, esp with major storms. I think we have only had one go of proper thunder this year. No lightning. :/

For ages I could not edit my location; it just didn't work when I tried so entered a location in my signature at someone's suggestion , maybe @Dovefromabove.  Since seeing this thread today, I tried again and lo and behold, it worked.

No rain here either.  My 'No Mow May' lawn is browner by the day but it's giving all the new flowers a chance for the seed to ripen.

My father used to moan about his allotment being the dust bowl of England  :D
He was in South London we could see the Crystal Palace TV mast in the distance at the top of the hill from his plot, I'm beginning to think the moniker could apply here in N London now. My Allotment is next to the Northern Line sidings  on the left branch as you look at the underground map. (That will mean something to fellow Londoners)

Well I can see the CP mast looking up the hill from my garden so he must have been quite nearby, @Allotment Boy !
