I find the location info useful.  I often check out what people near me are doing - @Pete8 being one as he is also located Essex way.

I think @dappledshade @Allotment Boy and @msqingxiao are nearish to my neck of the woods. Maybe @KeenOnGreen too.

Dappled Shade is 'top of the hill'. I'm 'bottom of the hill'. There is a south London posse.

Hi @Lyn I hadn't appreciated your growing conditions at first. Expected you could grow Torbay Palms, how wrong a good learning curve for me.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Definitely not here,  we’re 960ft above,  so a very didn’t climate to other places in Devon.  Nothing gets planted out until the end of May but usually into June.
I can drive down to the local town, about 7 miles and plants in in bloom,  mine hare just about budding.
The beauty of it is though, is when everyone else flowers have finished,  mine are still going strong😀
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Maybe we should add altitude to the place line.

I suppose I need to be more specific. Will sort it.
I'm in South East London. It seems our climate is wetter than  the much drier east borderline Essex Lond.onn
    In London. Keen but lazy.
