Didn't I just know it! The minute I stepped out of my car at the tip, the skies opened and it has been raining on and off since. It is only 17°C here at the moment and I've had to put a fleece on to keep warm.
Hazel, I love going to the tip and getting rid of that car load was just a start. The GC was very damp so I didn't linger. I did make one purchase - a packet of seeds of Limnanthes - the Poached Egg plant. It is such a cheery plant and Jack has a big clump of it in his front garden and its like a big patch of sunshine. I'll sow some later and grow some for Handy Brother's garden. You'll have to explain your countdown to the Summer Holidays as I got completely lost
Good to see you Debs - wondered how you were. Enjoy relaxing whilst you have your facial and massage.
    SGL, I wouldn't mind a cracking thunderstorm!
Busy, my sister and BIL are in the south of France at their van and its a mere 32°C down there with the temperature set to rise next week.

Hi folks, Thanks for your kind wishes.  Still feeling rubbish with this cold and Bestie still has no real Covid symptoms, although she has lost her sense of taste now.
It's cooler here today and much more comfortable but I haven't any energy to get into the garden.  I should actually be at the Patchings Art Festival today but had to cry off, gutted as I was really looking forward to it, had paid for the ticket, coach travel and for a workshop.
Sorry to hear your sad news @Ante1 hope working at the cottage helps.
Rosie, sorry to hear that something is frightening you.  Hope whatever it is disappears soon and you manage to sleep well.

Afternoon all. A much cooler 23C today, overcast and breezy. Spent 3 hrs in the garden working in the front garden in the shade this morning - very pleasant temperature.

Power has just come back on after a 45 minute power cut. I was starting to worry how I was going to get a shower because I definitely need one!

Ante - so sorry to learn your news. It must have been a big shock for you and your sister. I hope working on the small holding gives you space to process what has happened.

Rosie - good to hear you had a better night.

Yvie - sorry to hear you're still feeling rubbish and had to cancel your outing. I know of several people who've been affected by this current spike of covid cases. Some of them tested negative when they first started feeling unwell but tested positive a couple of days later. Might be worth another test if it's important for you to know.

    Hugs for @Ante1

Lucky you, LB, cool and rain. 37° today, too hot. I've been sorting out the keys and putting labels on them, done unmentionables to the sitting room with a yellow cloth. OH has been putting in screws and hanging pictures  I must go and water soon.

@Yviestevie sorry to hear you still feel so poorly. Do hope you start to feel better soon. Take care of yourself too.
@wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 Rosie glad you had a better nights sleep. Take care.
@Topbird glad the power is back on,  always a nuisance when the electricity goes off.
@Busy-Lizzie bet your glad OH has hung your pictures this afternoon. Will make it look so homely.
@Ladybird4 sorry you had rain again.
It's been a very warm day again today, not as bad as yesterday though.  Not breezy here.
@Songbird-1 bet you can't wait for 23 to stay over, hopefully it will be a cooler night.

Evening all. Sorry that you are still feeling rough Yvie and that you have had to miss the Art Festival and workshop. Will you get another chance?
T'Bird, good to hear that you managed some serious gardening but a bit of an irritation with the power cut.
Ruby, I was pleased to read that Rosie had had a better night last night.
Busy, you must be pleased with having your pictures put on the walls. With those little personal touches, it must feeling even more like 'home' now.
Hazel, thanks for the explanation - it makes sense now.

I'll just have to go next year LB.  I did get a call from one of the friend I was going with to say that she had sold my entry ticket and workshop ticket so I only lost the cost of the coach fare.  At least that's something.  When I get the money back I'll treat myself to something arty.
