Hello all ... glad you're home safe and sound @Topbird and hope you are reunited with your luggage PDQ. I'm afraid I'm not surprised about Anchorage ... its reputation goes before it. That being said, it does sound a marvellous trip.
I'm off out in a minute to meet up with Lizzie27 ... so have a marvellous day all ...

Have a great day out @Dovefromabove - going anywhere nice?

Now OH's van won't start after 3 weeks stood on the drive. We'll call out the breakdown service this pm but he's had to take my car to work this morning - so I can't do the SM run. He also parked the van so nobody could open the garage doors while we were away. So I can't get to the lawn mower and get on with grass cutting either.🤬
And I forgot to mention that we had a phone call from MIL in the early hours of Monday morning (she was stressed and got her time zones confused). Brother-in-law came off his mountain bike on Sunday and is in hospital.
I've just spoken to him and apparently he misjudged some jumps and ended up falling over 10 feet onto his chest. He has a bit of concussion, 4 broken ribs, a punctured lung and is as high as a kite on morphine. He's hoping they'll be able to remove his lung drain and let him go home tomorrow - but it will depend on whether his lung is stable and how the pain can be managed - he's still quite uncomfortable. Stupid boy - he's far too old to be doing that sort of nonsense!
MIL is struggling a bit with it all. FIL died after tripping, breaking ribs, puncturing his lung etc etc. She's been taken to see BIL and it doesn't help that he's on the same ward as his father was when he was so ill - almost the same bed.
No question BIL will make a full recovery with time but it's bringing back lots of unhappy memories for her.

Afternoon Dove. Enjoy your outing. Oh T'Bird. Another chapter of woes for you and the family I bet you feel just like getting back into bed and pulling the duvet over your head! I hope that the breakdown service sort the van problem quickly so that you can give it a drive and get the battery charging up again. SM dash to stock up on gin! Your poor MIL. The accident will have brought back a lot of sad memories. 10 feet is a huge drop out of the skies - especially when going at speed and your BIL will have a lot of pain from the broken ribs - not to mention the earache he will get from you and your OH when he comes out of hospital. I reckon you get the scream of the week!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
First problem solved - the van seems to be sorted. The fuel had drained away from the fuel pump which needed to be re-primed. Took somebody who knew what they were doing about 5 minutes. No costs involved thank goodness.
Yes BIL will be getting a lot of stick about this one.

Afternoon all, So sorry about how your holiday ended @Topbird and the problems since you arrived home. Hopefully your luggage will arrive quickly. I've been out with Bestie to a couple of local garden centre's today but didn't buy anything. Lost another 3.5lbs at weigh in this morning, another 1.5 and it will be the first stone. Off to get talons sorted later so quite a busy day. Like the tennis but haven't managed to watch much so far.
Glad your van is sorted out @Topbird … now your BIL needs to sort himself out 🙄 your poor MIL … that’s a lot of anxiety for her. I hope there now you two are back home to share the ‘responsibility’ for BIL she can relax a bit.
We met up at Blickling Hall … just drank coffee and chatted as Mr Lizzie27 is waiting for a hip op and he’d done enough walking for a bit. It was lovely to meet them both and put a face to a name. 😊

Yvie, nice that you managed to loss weight.
T'Bird, I'm glad that van problem is solved. There is nothing like your own bed, but I usually sleep on the floor.
It's still bad outside. I must give dinner to my pets, but it will wait few more minutes.
needs to sort himself out 🙄
