Good morning Ante and Debs. You snuckered in there.
Ante, I was sorry to hear that you weren't feeling so well yesterday. Be careful that you don't get heat stroke (toplinski udar?) in those extreme temperatures.
Debs, you can only do your absolute best in trying circumstances at work. I hope your customers appreciate this. They should be grateful you are there.

  • LB yes lovely Debra James who had battled so hard, RIP and her legacy continues.  Toobird poor you, such a dreadful experience after such a lovely holiday and to be charged substantially for somewhere so unsuitable.  A very tense match between Serena and Harmony.  Ante hope you have a better day and not so hot for you.  Chive raining this morning when I took out the rubbish.  Hope you have a good day.

    Morning all.

What a nightmarish end to your holiday @Topbird. Thank goodness your luggage was lost at the end and not the beginning though. I hope it arrives safely. At least you will have some good memories and some amazing photos.

It should be another sunny day so I'd like to make a start on sorting out the poor smashed flower beds. Some flowers are recovering and flowering.

Don't overdo it @Ante1. Maybe you've had too much sun.

    Good morning Rosie and Busy.
Rosie, its raining here too but we've got Wimbledon to watch!
Busy, it never fails to amaze me how resilient Nature is. I am pleased that, despite the storm, some of your flowers are recovering.

Morning Hazel. Yes, you mentioned last night that today was a busy day for you. Whatever you have to do I hope that you manage to achieve it all.

    Good morning ladies.

Thank you all, I'm quite well and rested. I'll stay in today, as Bussy said, it's too much sun and heat.

LB, you spelled it perfectly correct, at least it's word without our weird letters. 😁

Hazel, have a nice day and don't do too much.

Debs, hope all goes well at work.

Morning everyone, just a quick pop in as I overslept and I'm off out this morning and must get a wriggle on. Haven't read back but will do when I come back.
It's raining 🌧  do hope it brightens up.
Have a good day everyone, see you later.

Morning all. We were blessed with huge, comfortable beds throughout our hols but there's nothing like your own - just had a solid 8 hours - bliss! Woke at about 2am needing the loo and really couldn't work out where I was - hotel? boat? another hotel?. Had to put a light on so I didn't end up in the wardrobe!

From another BA text it seems the bags were scheduled to be put on the overnight flight from Seattle so they may arrive at LHR this morning. Fingers crossed they sort it out properly.

I've bookmarked this Rezzers thread. OH kept a written journal of our holiday and took lots of photos and video. I effectively used this thread as my own electronic diary with photos😎 Hope you don't mind!

Garden is an overgrown mess but that was to be expected. Hopefully it will look better once the grass is cut and edged and the roses dead headed.

BL - glad your garden is starting to recover. Did you work out where all the rain got in to your house last week?

Debs - hope work isn't too horrible.

Ante - look after yourself. Lots of water and rest during the heat of the day.

LB - glad you've been enjoying the tennis. Looking forward to joining you in that! I was going to watch Sherwood on i-Player. Not sure I can be bothered in the light of various comments. Maybe if I binge watch it will be clearer?

Hazel - I've never grown freesias but they are one of my favourite flowers. I suspect they wouldn't enjoy my heavy clay. Will be good to hear how you get on with them.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Morning T'Bird. I love, love, love the fact (and I'm sure others will agree) you used the thread as a way of keeping memories of your holiday. Don't even think we minded! Fingers crossed your luggage arrives soon. One ski-ing holiday we went on, my sis and BIL's skis were offloaded in Birmingham, where we made a brief stop before flying on to Manchester on our return visit. The skis were driven up to their home a few days later. I hired my skis so no problems for me.
I think clay soils is why I, too, have never had luck with growing freesias in my garden.
