    Yes
I hope everyone hasn't lost their sense of fun. I think it's good to have a village get together and it will be lovely to celebrate the Queen's long reign.

The silver jubilee was a huge thing, in England at least. I was five. I remember it well.
I don't remember anything where I was at the time.

Two days of the phone not ringing so I'll be able to get some work done in peace.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Lots of people are in really severe financial difficulty. It's not about not having fun, it's about needing to find ways to have it without spending any money. Hopefully the street parties will be cheap tickets so people can join in with their communities.

I'm sure some of you are probably surprised, but I am a fan, sort of.

Yes, because anyone who's done the same job for 70 years - which they didn't volunteer for, deserves my appreciation.
I was actually named after her, although my father was a staunch Labourite, which always surprised me. She's been my Queen all my life and it will be very strange without her.
That said, we're not planning to do anything special for the Jubilee, apart from getting a bottle of Pimms in for a toast. I might watch some of the TV coverage, depending on the weather. There is a local organised party on the Rec but it's not our thing.
