In terms of respect for the Queen and 70 years of duty, then yes, it does mean something to me.
The thought of 70 years of having your day mapped out for you, no waking up and deciding to have a "duvet day", no being able to say "How about going to the seaside/countryside/fair at the weekend ?". Having to be pleasant to people you'd rather avoid etc.
Of course, she doesn't have to worry about where her next meal is coming from, how she's going to pay the gas bill, get a dentist/doctor's appointment, but it's not her fault that by an accident of birth and an abdication she found herself there. She is very much a symbol of a long gone age, which in some ways is a sad thing, but in many others not so much.
I would be surprised if the monarchy lasts for much longer once she is gone, at the very least l can see it morphing into a Dutch style royal family.
No jubilee parties for me, but l will watch some of the coverage on TV.
I agree with you @AnniD. It personally means nothing to me, but who the hell would want that job? Always having to be on show - no chance of slobbing around in old clothes, and having to shake hands and make small talk with endless amounts of people. No thanks! I also can't think of anything much worse than being at a street party, but that's because of the way I am. I have no problem with anyone who wants to enjoy one, even if a lot of them probably need no encouragement to have a party at any time, or for any reason
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

And I agree with you entirely.
I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
Let the rest get a job, buy a house and vanish into the obscurity they deserve.
I think the royal family do a great job (well most of them, I have reserves about a few😛).
