We got only about 10-15 pears this year.
Runner beans, on the other hand, is still producing. Couldn't pick the last few days, so the bigger haul this weekend.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • We harvested cucamelons in the polytunnel that had self seeded from last year. Not a lot but enough.

It's taste and texture that really matter.

    Often associated with freshness.

Potatoes eaten within hours of harvesting are something else.  Runner beans are so much easier to prepare when fresh and crisp.

location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

Just pulled the last of the Speedo Carrots,  that makes a total of 10kg this season. I planted double the amount this year, but the results are better. Good size, good flavour and blanch well for the freezer.
Beds now covered and put to rest for the winter 😴
  • Harvested some kohl rabi from the polytunnel and swish chard outside. Some conference pears (good size) and salad leaves from the polytunnel.
  • I picked the Bramley Apples from the tree at home. 4 large seed tray size boxes in shed now.
    AB Still learning
