We have rain at last  But I looked in the biggest water butt and it hadn't filled up at all despite water going down the drainpipe. The small pipe from the downpipe into the butt was blocked with black gunge.
It was a good time to test the new door canopy. I was able to put my shopping bags down and look for the key without getting wet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
No gardening today Ruby, its been raining most of today - not heavy stuff but that which is known as 'wetting rain' round here.
Busy, I cleared out all my green house guttering whilst it was dry the other week. Its quite amazing how much 'stuff' accumulates. Good to hear that your door canopy does stop the worst of the weather getting to you.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I heard today that Jack has been moved to another ward but he was still waiting to be seen by the Doc. That was at 13:22 today when I received the text.

Evening all. We've had walk round Göttingen today. Rather pleasant small city / large town and I visited a couple of the churches and the town museum. It was very hot (high 20's) so, after a late lunch, we cycled back to the van and walked over to the spa for a second session. Currently swinging gently in a hummock - very sporific. OH loves the saunas but on a hot day like today I'm happier dipping in and out of the various outdoor mineral pools and jaccuzzis.
Tomorrow we move back north to Bad Rothenfeld - a much smaller spa town. Forecast to cool down a bit thank goodness. It was a bit hot for sleeping last night.
Hope you like the new covers Rosie.
Good to hear you had some rain at last BL. Fingers crossed it made it 20 miles south to my garden.
LB - hope to hear some good news about Jack soon.
Hazel - these scammers make me very cross - preying on peoples' vulnerabilities and fears.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Its been really windy today and cold. It started to rain about 1, absolutely poured down and didn't stop till about half an hour ago. It's sunny now, crazy weather. Thank you for the warning @Songbird-1 Love poppies, yours sound beautiful. @Ladybird4 hope Jack is feeling a bit better today. Hope he gets seen by the Dr soon. @bluebellsintherain glad your covers have arrived, hope you're pleased with them. @Busy-Lizzie glad you've had rain too, the garden certainly needed it.Â
LB yes they’re a heavy duty cotton and washable.  Yes I’m pleased.  Alfie’s had his first sleep on them and approves.  Topbird it sounds fabulous where you are with the pools and jacuzzi, enjoy special memories. The nearest I had to a jacuzzi was dangling my toes over the vents in the swimming baths and chatting to my swim buddy.  Night night Lily and everyone, sleep well.
