Naturespot is my favourite site for bug ID but it is restricted to only covering insects found in their local area. Otherwise UKmoths is a good site to verify ID but not the best if you need to search based on pictures to find a match. You can just about see the white markings on the side that match your moth.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

We must have toadflax brocade moths here because we get the caterpillars every year.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Whi needs pets? A clever reflective surface. Was that there on purpose?

No it's just a happy accident. If it was on purpose my finger wouldn't have been ruining the photo :|

First chance to get the trap out for a couple of weeks..

always love an elephant hawk, 3 smalls today

Was rather taken with this Scorched Wing that looked exactly like a piece of dead blossom

And our first Longhorn, which has frankly ridiculously large antennae

I've seen so many moths today. A couple of hours in the garden and a walk around the woods and they seem to be everywhere. I've got the trap out now for the first time in a couple of weeks so I have high hopes of getting past the 200 species mark this week.
Just a quick Small Magpie from the garden earlier.

You should send a video into Spring Watch. I think they (Chris Packham) would be interested in your 200 species. It's a big deal!
