Id say if it works (which it seems to for wild edges), then the collapsible one is a winner

I just checked my emails and I got mine from this company https://www.angleps.com/mothtraps.php
Just so you know, any perspex/polycarbonate glasses block UV light so you don't need any special ones. Cheapest ones are under £2 if you don't already have a set for DIY.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Bumper night in the moth trap here, after a bit of a stall on new species for a while managed to get 12 new species taking us up to 154 in total

Few that were new to us..
The Uncertain and a Smoky Wainscot (I just love moth names)

    Scalloped Oak

    Ypsolopha Sequella

Amazing hauls from both of you. I look forward to joining in though ID will frustrate me.

I love the names too. You get so much more imaginative and whimsical common names than in most science. “The Uncertain” is a wonderful name - poetry in motion.

There are apps that help, I now use one called ObsIdentify that an ecologist recommended to me that records, logs and is pretty good at identifying them @Fire

    So many great names…
    Hebrew Character
    chimney Sweeper
    Drinker
    The Conformist
    Heart and Dart

I’ll try the app. Thanks. My plan is to take lots of photos and work out what they are over time - and just enjoy the beauty
