    Only 2 moths last night surprisingly as has been quite warm and we had more in our bedroom! Did get 2 of these beauties though

    Gosh. They look more beetles with folded wing cases. Such antennae! (If that’s what they are).

    Oh yes they are @Fire, sorry forgot to say they were cockchafers not moths!

    What a wonderful creature and one I would love to see up close, I've only ever seen a Rose Chafer which was a bit smaller.

    I'm hoping to run the trap tonight but with clear skies and a bright moon it might not be worth it. I'd be happy just to have a Cock Chafer though. We don't get many around here.

    Ah it was moonlit last night @wild edges, never occurred to me that would make a difference, but makes compete sense why there weren’t many now.

    Cockchafers in flight are one of the greatest things known to man, like a jumbo jet with a child flying it

    179 officially and another 10 or so that I can't put a name to.
