Afternoon all, another lazy day here, mainly due to more drizzle. Did a quick bit of shopping this morning, bit surprised to see while I was whizzing around that Tesco's didn't appear to have any Jubilee stuff available but it's only a small shop. Had a fancy to get the Walker's Jubilee shortbread tin but not really fussed.

Hope you hear soon just what is planned @Busy-Lizzie, sounds a bit odd.

As you say a good result @floralies. Do hope your court case goes in your favour @punkdoc and that your Committee efforts are appreciated @Didyw.

The airport/holiday news sounds horrendous, so glad we don't fly any more. We've noticed a big increase in flights in and out of Bristol lately, including during the night.

Oh well, I suppose there's always the ironing to do.

Too late to cancel the bar.  He was promised he would be the only beer seller and has already ordered in £1000 worth of beer.  So he's not happy that we already have a local beer seller.  He's coming from Kent to Suffolk and has had to book overnight accommodation.  The chair of the committee, who is really quite laissez faire, doesn't see a problem.  The chair of the committee is a big beer drinker.

Then the chair of the committee had better get some rounds in 🍻

    Evening.

Much ‘excitement’ in work today as masks are now optional in the hospital! They are required for certain patients but otherwise it’s ‘choice’. Mixed feelings and mixed responses. I wore mine all day. Most did not. Also LFTs for visitors has stopped.

Looking forward to the long weekend now. Anyone doing Jubilee stuff??

Yes @AuntyRach, we are going to a tea on Saturday and a picnic lunch on Sunday. What about you?

    Good evening all,

@didyw, much sympathy with you, in another life I was probably you.... a lot of work, little appreciation and a lot of stress. I feel your pain.

@Busy-Lizzie, I do hope poor Cedric gets sorted soon, it just seems to go on and on for him.

@Hostafan1, Don't feel guilty, it has to be good for you to get out a bit and music is so joyful.

A new girl started with us this week, very, very nice and very capable, French, but speaks good English. Has a back problem that might not cut it, we're treating her gently. We are so in need of capable staff.

I wasn't going to do much for the jubilee, felt a bit mercenary trading in on it, but with so many requests, including the local press, there seems to be an expectation that an English Tearoom will be doing something, I have succumbed and put on some special English dishes for lunch and a Jubilee Afternoon Tea and a Jubilee Cake. we have bunting and flags and balloons. I am not sure the queen would approve, but expectations are high. I keep seeing the poor lady on TV and she seems ever so frail.

    Good evening all.

We are having a family dinner on Friday,  but to be honest we tend to do this most bank holiday weekends anyway.  It's one of a handful of times we all get together across the year. As Christmas got scuppered again due to you know what  ( one GC tested pos) this is the first time we will all be together since it all kicked off.
