Sausage sandwiches outside the summer house in glorious sunshine, a lovely start to the day. On our wedding day 28 years ago, temperatures reached the high 20's, it was glorious.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Congratulations, Mr & Mrs @punkdoc. It'll be our 25th later this year

Hope everyone else is well and planning to have a little time off at least, this weekend.
I've managed to wire up the new oven that was delivered yesterday evening (well done John Lewis) and made inaugural soda bread. It seems to work Laundry is also done and out in the sunshine, OH is just making some lunch - I may get to do some gardening this afternoon, if I'm lucky.
Going back a few pages, as someone who designs hot water and heating systems for a living, I'd never have a combi boiler. Too many small moving parts to break. We used to have very good mains water pressure at our house in Bristol - think we were probably one of the first houses on the 'line' from the pumping station. Here, no mains water, so the pump pressure is entirely our own choice. We have a header tank, thank goodness, or we'd have had no water at all when the storms knocked the power out for 36 hours in February. I just think it's a more robust way to do it. Takes up space though

Apparently it's International Dawn Chorus Day tomorrow https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/dawn-chorus-day I think the birds here thought yesterday and today were Dawn Chorus Days, including Mr Cockerel.
I had a long phone chat with my sister this morning, hung out the washing, went shopping for our dinner party on Tuesday then phone call with Daughter 2 so didn't manage to get here. Realised it's a bank holiday weekend and worried that the SM might be low on stock by Monday or Tuesday so decided to go today. No crab so got big prawns for the starter.
It's a lovely sunny day, but the rest of the week is forecast cloudy.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I saw a wedding car pull in at a Nursing Home today - I hope there was a proud relative awaiting their arrival. Made me smile hoping so.
Busy day here. Went to a community plant fair (bought some Hollyhocks), then visited sister, then Dad. Mission to help Dad change a kitchen strip light was a faff. Very fiddly. Sad to see him struggling with jobs he used to easily do.
Toying with waking up for Dawn Chorus Day @Busy-Lizzie, but maybe the forecast rain will put us all off.
Watching a wood pigeon build her nest in my cherry tree today - flying from tree to tree gathering twiggy bits. I’ve put a collection of small twigs and some sheep’s wool out for her (I’m daft, I know!).

Lovely day, just sat around the garden, ate some cheese, drank some wine, and this evening watched a movie.
