How exciting @Allotment Boy - looking forward to photos too. My friends and I are hatching plans for another Keukenhof trip next year.
Avoided the forecast frost -phew 🫣. Lost all our wisteria flowers on the one that grows against the house in the last cold spell. But we have a standard wisteria which flowers later, so escaped the frost damage. Its just on the cusp of flowering so am keeping my fingers very crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
West Dean today - best get going. Happy Thursday peeps 😃
Dove, you’ve reminded me of a very worrying incident. My lovely young Iranian neighbour, when she was pregnant with her first baby, went to lots of bother to find a female gynaecologist. When she was in hospital after it was born, a team of (male) doctors came through the ward, and in their usual confident way, exhibited her privates to the team. She was mortified! She told me that she wasn’t game to tell her husband. I was furious! I’m still lost for words that it could happen. 😳
anyway, there’s not much use being upset about it now, the kids are adults now and I rarely see her since we moved to the farm.
We’ve been to town today for hubby’s usual toe-nail trimming and a bit of food shopping, so that’s my outing for the week done. Hubby has an appt with his Oncologist tomorrow, but I won’t go with him. Too early for me.
Morning folks.good luck for Mr Pat and his appointment. I like the concept of the Sewing Bee,have made clothes all my life, but I can't bear the irritating jokey presenters. Sorry even the lovely Esme and even lovelier Patrick can't detract me from them. Went down to 4c at midnight when I put no one dog out for a wee,but it didn't feel cold, the wind had dropped. I don't know about always being on the go Dove,I feel lazy with the amount of decorating and running B and Bs some of our ladies do. I can't make bread anymore because of my hands. I bought a stand mixer 2 years ago with bread hook, for this very reason, and it doesn't make nice bread!
Hello @Pat E … that’s so sad … and in those circumstances it difficult for women to make a proper complaint.
Many years ago when I was in my early 30s I was in hospital for a minor op. I was in a side room when two young men in white coats (junior docs?) came in and said that as I was in hospital I could “take advantage of a free breast examination just to be on the safe side” … and he proceeded to ‘examine’ me followed by his colleague. They did keep smiling at each other, but I was quite naive in those days.
A couple of years later I mentioned this ‘helpful service’ to a friend who was a senior nurse at the hospital … she was livid and said that some young doctors/medical students thought it was ok to grope younger women patients pretending to do a breast exam. The hospital had heard about it and had hopefully (her words) put a stop to it. I had actually been the victim of an assault. 😡

Morning all, back to rain and chilly today, so indoor things to do and check on the GH. I wondered why one of my Salvia cuttings from last year wasn't doing anything, found scale insects attached to the stem.... gone now! Did you you hear yet from your "expert" @punkdoc re your court case? I hope it is favourable for you.
