Thank you @coccinella and everyone. There's a lot of hidden racism around. I have heard my dear son in law (Wonky's husband) called the 'N' word to his face, and a man and his family sitting at one end of a long table in a restaurant/pub got up and hurridly left mid-meal (muttering under their breath) when he joined me and other family members sitting at the other end. There are some vile people around. So sadly, while I'm all for promoting this country and its people and products, there are situations where the displaying of the Union Jack or St George's Flag makes me feel deeply uncomfortable. I don't know what this country can do about it other than to call out and oppose all forms of racism wherever it is, and celebrate the contributions that people of all origins and ethnicities have made to this country.

Afternoon all, I think it's a shame about the flag of St George. It's a pity all British Muslims don't claim the flag and fly it the same as we do. It would soon lose all it's nasty connotations. I don't think the Union Jack has the same feel about it. Have been out this morning to a local craft warehouse with Bestie. Her granddaughter is making Jubilee bunting to raise money for a trip she is making to Kenya with the school. They are going out to help build a school. She does have a couple of years to raise the funds. She has done well, so far she has raised £700 pounds from a variety of initiatives including making Easter Treats and Christmas decorations. She is off to do a car boot sale this weekend. Our trip out did involve stopping off at a lovely cafe in Wolverley where I enjoyed a really good fish finger, halloumi and sweet chilli jam sandwich. Was too full to have cake which is very rare for me. Came back and watered the garden as everywhere is so dry even established plants seem to be suffering.
Still absolutely nothing from either job I applied for, one of which was advertising the interviews would be tomorrow And I've come home to roofers parked all over our drive, two big vans with guys sat in them and only one guy actually... roofing?!
I have to watch Sewing Bee when OH doesn't want to be in the sitting room. Not his thing.
We went to Sainsbugs for want of anything better to do. Did need milk though. We had hot chocolate the other night and I'd made a bread and butter pudding.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The first few episodes are always a bit rushed cos there’s so many folk to fit in … I find it takes on a gentler pace about week four … tonight’s was a bit hectic … still enjoyable tho’.
Time for bed now … night night folk 🛌 🥱
