Hi @coccinella .... brrr!  keep warm.  My thyroid is virtually non-functioning and for years I've taken a  high dose of Levothyroxine ... but I still have the thyroid gland, virtually useless tho' it is, if that's of any help at all.

I think I should be pretty safe, I am only going to Salisbury.

My ex had 95% of his thyroid removed, back in the day when they cut around the throat from ear to ear,  it was the making of him,  he was in top health afterwards.
I don’t  think they do that these days, or do they,  our vicar rarely recently had his removed by laser.

    Start a thyroid thread, @coccinella
Lots of forum members will have some personal experiences to contribute. Also some good websites we can recommend.

    Good morning Forkers.
It's sunny but freezing cold here too- drinking endless cups of tea just to hug the warmth.
I'm having a quiet weekend as hubby has been poorly this week and he still feels weak and is easily tired.
I too applaud @punkdoc - thank you for all that you do.
    Have a good Saturday everyone.

Afternoon all,  Had a busy week looking after the boys.  We have all been ill with colds/chest infections but we all tested neg for Covid.  It's freezing cold here today so we are lighting the log burner again instead of using the central heating.  Hope everyone is OK.

Just read back over yesterday's posts - welcome to new members and lurkers!
Much as I love the story of Eddie Grant suing Trump, @Dovefromabove, I don't hold out much hope.  He should be in jail by now but he just keeps on appealing, delaying and generally wearing everyone down; let alone having stuffed the Supreme Court with his own henchmen.
And something else I read suggests that Trumpers just don't care whether Biden was legitimately elected or not.  Even if it was in absolutely no doubt they don't accept him as President as they only recognise their own far right views as legitimate, regarding everyone else as un-American.
Yes, do start a thyroid thread @coccinella.  I always counsel women of a certain age whose 'get up and go' feeling has deserted them to get their thyroid checked.

Hope all suffering, recovering from, Covid feel better soon.  It has got scarily high again. We are going to a wedding on Monday in Norwich so will see how we survive that as it is highly unlikely that all of the guests will be wearing masks for the service and the reception.

Hope the chemicals course is helpful @punkdoc - hats off to you!
