Morning all.  A nice sunny morning now after a cold misty wake up.  Had a lovely cuddle from Pixel who wanted me to get up. 😁.

We had Fish pie the last two night which Hubby made. Very yummy.  I think the third co

Hello @Pat E’and Pixel 😊 did she get any of the fish pie? 😉

Yes @Desi_in_London … one of my roles was to assess and review the support provided for a family who had a severely disabled child … when I realised how tiring the long summer fast days were going to be one year for his mother, we managed to reschedule the forthcoming review meeting … her life was tiring  enough as it was without us adding to it. 😊

Good morning all and good evening @Pat E
Just working in the morning today and have decided to make quiche...plural this afternoon.
Gray morning but dry at least.
I've got a tray of Dahlia seedlings that need potting on and a tray of more tomatoes so hoping to get that done too.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of the greenhouse @raisingirl but be warned hubby and I came the closest we ever have come to divorce during assembly..... word to the wise,  hold on the the instructions and don't let OH skim read and go.... right,  got the jist of that, then not refer to it again until he can't understand why the door won't fit.....🤔

    Morning all.

Looks as though it will be a grey day but not so cold.

I will probably be in the veg garden, haven't finished the weeding and there are baby brassicas and lettuces to plant which were waiting in shelter during the cold snap.

Hmmm ... drizzle ... hopefully it'll disappear very soon ...

On a brighter note, some of the Swiss Chard seeds I sowed the same day as the lettuce have decided to copy the lettuce and pop their heads above the surface of the compost  :D

  • Morning all,

A bit grey here but warmer than late. Paperwork day for me, and trying to get organised for my few days away next week. I do have to make a Bakewell Tart first though, sold out last thing yesterday.

I've also taken a booking for 12 people from a local gardening club at the end of the month, they're coming on their way back from a mornings visit to somewhere. It'll be nice to chat to them about gardening in France.

I'm really hoping to get some gardening done as soon as it warms up a bit in the evenings.

Glad you had a nice birthday @wonkywomble

Must get on, have a good day all.

grey skies and cold wind here. Plenty of work to get on with though, so maybe just as well.

I read your post to OH @WonkyWomble. He's muttering something about 'do it yourself if that's how you feel about it'. He'll come round  :D

I’m afraid that Pixel wasn’t offered any of our delicious pies Dove. They were wolfed down before she got a sniff. 😂😅. As well as a base of smoked trout, he included some Marinara mix ( muscles, prawns, etc). He had found a small bag of deft-over seafood in the freezer, so that went in.  We really enjoyed them.    I decided to put the last two pies in the freezer today because I think we will enjoy them more after a break.

I'm feeling very virtuous ... washing is flapping on the line, downstairs floors have been swept, supper is prepped and a dozen spiced buns are proving and shouldgo in the oven in half an hour or so ..... they're a sort of forerunner to making hot cross buns for Good Friday ... that's the problem with Easter being late this year ... I get a hankering for spiced buns.  I've also had a wander around the garden ... Wonky is visiting on Saturday and she's going to give me a hand with some gardening stuff ... hmm, the local weather forecast has been updated ... 80% likelihood of rain in the next hour ... shall I leave the washing out? There's not a lot, just a few 'flimsies' ... if the dry and windy afternoon currenty promised materialises they'll dry even if they do get wet this morning ...
