My end bed is weeded and edged now and my new plants are planted. Soil is dry for April, I've done some watering from a butt. The butt needs emptying, it has slipped a bit on its plinth and is too heavy to push.

    Evening.

“Turned out nice” today. Is it me or is it the more I do in the garden, the more I find to do! Maxing-out on bin and compost bin room already.

I hope you are all ok whatever you are up too this Easter BH weekend.

Well don't worry,  this particular grockle is home again. We got back yesterday.  The plan worked perfectly,  we went to Compton Acres,  in the morning,  had lunch,  then home.  There was a bit of slow traffic past H'row, but no more than usual.  Catching up on Allotments and garden today loads to do I am very behind on the Allotments.  Seeds to sow spuds to put in etc. Family coming to dinner tomorrow,  enjoy the rest of Easter weekend everyone.

Evening all, what did you think of Compton Acres @Allotment Boy. I've known it since childhood (I think) and it's had it's up and downs. Thought it fantastic when we visited it last year.

I'm all shopped out tonight. Daughter needed 'home' things and I wanted a big mat for the porch so we hit Dunelms, B&M and TXMax, which aren't shops I normally use so an interesting exercise, they weren't that busy either which was a bonus. Had a horrible chicken salad sandwich for lunch and then discovered why - it was gluten free bread. Very glad I'm not on that diet. Just had to have a chocolate  brownie afterwards as compensation. Later we all had dinner on the terrace for the first time this year which was very nice. My big pittospernum is pumping out a very strong perfume in the evening and smells very exotic.

Glad everyone seems to have enjoyed the good weather and some gardening. We're doing that tomorrow.

It’s funny you mention the Pittospernum fragrance @Lizzie27 - I was only speaking of that the other day. I had noticed a lovely perfume, around this time of year, and thought it was my potted jasmine… then one year the Jasmine had not survived the Winter but the smell was there! A bit of sniffing around and I realised it was the pittospernum!

@AuntyRach, I really look forward to April as the pittospernum perfume is one of the highlights. It's close to our bedroom and en-suite windows and can be quite strong on warm April nights. My OH is not quite so keen on the smell. Our's is more like a small tree now.

Wow, turned my back and missed 73 posts! We’ve been busy prepping for visitors. Daughter and son in law arrived yesterday, haven’t seen them in the flesh since the Christmas before lockdown. Seems weird that we can just catch up from where we left off as if it was only yesterday though. Glad you all seem well, will catch up Monday night, so Happy Easter to you all. Lovely pic, @Pat E

Evening all,  Been busy in the garden today weeding and tidying.  I have potted up the begonias that survived the delivery.  Not sure who delivered them but about 50% were not fit to plant.  The calibrachoa arrived today and they were in much better condition so hopefully I'll get them potted up before I go to Firstborn's for lunch.
Our day at the Safari Park went down well with the boys.  We were all shattered at the end of the day.
Also sowed some lettuce, beetroot, radish, spinach, carrots and salad leaves today.
Happy Easter everyone whatever you are up to.

Happy Easter to you all 🐣

Got lots of gardening done over the last two days ….feeling a bit more on top of it now.

Climbed a local “peak” (not very high really) this evening with littlest Chicklet to watch the sunset.  Saw a very pink moon and a hot air balloon descend unexpectedly into someone’s garden 🤪

Tomorrow is Ea-box day at my sisters.  We missed Boxing day because BiL tested positive so we are going for take two.  Cakes have been baked and games are packed and ready to go.

A clear cool morning today. The only cloud is a jet trail.

You all sound very busy in your gardens. Mine are slowing down.  I’ve still got tomatoes, and of course my permanent fresh herbs, which I love.  The rosemary is now nearly head high 😳.

Nothing much planned here, but we might cut some more firewood this afternoon, if Hubby is in the mood.  I’ve still got washing on the line from yesterday, so it should be well and truly dry.
