I'm wearing a skirt, haven't worn one for ages. Will change into usual jeans after late lunch as there is more gardening to do and it's another lovely day.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Pat E try googling "resize your image" then. It's a free software.
A light lunch has been had, chooks visited, seedlings watered and chocolate eggs shared. Little flop now and then I'm off to plant those spuds. They're a local speciality from the island of Noirmoutier, grown with seaweed like Jersey Royals but I have no idea of the variety. No idea what they'll taste like either as these were a first crop and kept in a cool dark place but still managed to sprout in just a few days. Humph!
I also need to pot on some of the treasures I bought at the plant fair yesterday - 2 each of cream, orange and purple flowered epimediums to plant under the acers, a helichrysum and a helianthemum for my dry garden bed, 4 more tomatoes and 2 cucumbers and an andromeda Blue Lagoon which looks like it should be in a dry bed but is actually a bog rosemary. Gorgeous, fine, glaucous foliage.
No cinema visiting here but we do get some original versions so we'll keep an eye on schedules.

Afternoon all, another lovely day here and we've been busy - just look at my posh porch! I've been trying to get hold of a proper porch doormat in the right size for ages but ended up yesterday buying an indoor rug and cutting it to size. There are ceramic tiles in the porch which are lethal when wet and I've slid several times so hopefully the rug will be safer. It will get mucky of course but It's washable. We shall see. Hope everyone's enjoying their break.
@Pat E one of our boys goes absolutely crazy for butterflies. He can't catch them but as soon as he sees one he's off!
It's gorgeous here today. Just the right temperature with a little cloud cover. I'm training for a marathon at the end of May so did 15 miles this morning which went really well then we're going to the cinema tonight to see Operation Mincemeat. I have to work tomorrow so I've convinced OH to get us a fancy pizza on the way home as compensation Shame as I'd quite like to potter around the garden a bit more tomorrow and try and sort out the weeds but alas, the people need me!
I'm going to go and check out the tomatoes I planted up in the greenhouse in a bit, see if they survived their first night in the ground. One of them looked a wee bit ropey
@Pat E. If you need to resize your photos, have you tried using your edit and just chopping the sides off. It makes them just that bit small and quicker to load.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Thanks for all hints for my photos. I really think it only happens when Hubby is also using his iPad. It seems to me that’s the only time I get a delay on doing things like putting a photo on. Maybe the solution is to send him out with the lawnmower. 😁😁
Time for us to close down now. (It’s after midnight).
Takhana, I’ve tried to get photos of the butterflies, but they are so quick to flit away, that I always miss them.
We had lunch in the garden, smoked salmon on little triangles of bread, salad and a glass of Chardonnay, birdies tweeting everywhere. There was a big rumbling noise so I ran round to the front and there were lots of really old tractors going up the street. The drivers all waved.

Noisy birds here @Busy-Lizzie. All sorts of conversations and warnings going on including a couple of very chatty cuckoos and my first sighting of swallows. One of the noisiest birds is a mimic and sounds just like my cooker timer going off.
I ended up just dozing and reading and dozing off again on a sunbed as exhaustion from yesterday washed over me. Up at 7am and out and on parade with the sausages and sliced belly pork for the food stand, helping set out cakes and decorations at the stand and then 9 hours on parade serving cakes and drinks.
Great fun tho and all 5 of my vegan and/or gluten free cakes had sold by lunchtime. Only one other lady did a gluten free tart. Will have to do more next year.
There was a strange rumble as I snoozed. That triangle of thick oak beams in OH's barn that turned upside down during the clean up finally slid out of its housing and down the wall this afternoon. Assuming OH can disassemble it that's more lovely beams for raised beds in the veggie patch.
Better go and get that lamb sorted out and see what Possum has planned for pud.
Have a lovely evening everyone.

I need a lie down just reading that
Very smart @Lizzie27
The @s are a bit wonky this afternoon, or is it just me?
