I've managed to read back and catch up with you all, and in the main all positive. 😁 Charlie had a fabulous time in UK, in fact felt a bit homesick, which is bizarre as he was so young when we left. Anyway, he's planning another trip soon, and actually, I would quite like him to go to an English university. He loved Brighton.
I really enjoyed my trip to Nîmes, and called in at Cahors on the way back, really lovely but unfortunately, I've hurt my back, maybe all the walking, and am struggling at the moment. Of course the restaurant is really busy with it being Easter so it's been a hard weekend. Drugged up and resting at every opportunity. Getting annoyed at all these health niggles, neck, knees, back, I'm so used to being fit as a fiddle, running marathons and skiing, looks like it's all catching up with me. 🙄😱
Anyway, daily crossword done, and off to bed now with Ken Follet, really enjoying The Pillars of the Earth.
Good night all, catch up later.
This is my my nightcap view.... I so wish I could buy the empty house at the back of us, it's such a shame to see it rotting away.

We’ve been out the back cutting more firewood. There is rain predicted for the next two days, so just as well to get some more done while it’s fine
This pile of wood was scaped together by the bloke with the machine which cleared our perimeter fence for us. Makes it safer to mover around the property with a fire truck if there are bushfires around.
This one made me laugh. The branch must have been damage at one time and then the branch recovered and grew upright again. It’s since died, but it just shows how versatile the Eucs can be.
Flopping now after stacking the trailer with cut wood.
Morning folks. Haven't popped in for a while Been ridiculously busy, garden of course now, plus other "stuff" I will tell you about a bit later. Grandkids now this week, half term. We did take Saturday off,and went to Firle garden show Very nice it was to. Bought a few plants, and a shrub.
Glad Charlie enjoyed himself @D0rdogne_Damsel … sorry to hear you’re crook again, maybe a session with the physio/masseuse or whoever is needed. 🤸♀️ 😉
Dove, morning there.Aquilegia early bird,Geum Totally tangerine, fiery tempest. Tiarella pink skyrocket, Heuchera silver gumdrop.Last by by no means least, sorbaria 'sem'. When I saw your name on my emails,I thought you were going to ask, what had I been up to!
A bit demoralised this morning, we have been making really good progress in the garden over this Spring, but last night the Red Deer have been in, and it is a seen of destruction.
Oh well, at least we have Midsummer house to look forward to.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Heartbreaking @punkdoc, know how you feel having had roe deer in my garden in France. We had a Muntjac here in Norfolk recently. It ate all my peony shaped crimson tulips which had lovely fat buds. We keep the side gate shut now.
I'm going to spray the box hedge again. It was showing signs of blight after last year's gloomy summer, but is now growing new leaves.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

If it's of any consolation a foodie friend, now living not that far from you, discovered yesterday how wonderful barbequed venison can be ...
