A word of advice please from all your clematis growers 😊 I have a 5ft/1.5m high metal wigwam type obelisk, about 40cm at the base narrowing to a point. It has no intermediate supports, so I plan to spiral round sturdy string or some such. The clem gets to about 2.5m and I’m trying to work out spacing so it reaches the top but also gives good coverage. What sort of distance do I need between the string? Would about 30cm gaps be ok or should it be closer? Thanks.

PS, here’s a pic, note the kong dog chew on the top!

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
