A picture-perfect Prince @Rojas, like edhelkaās mine are much smaller at the moment. I didnāt know you had Othello, looks a good red colour and reminds me a little of LD Braithwaite, which I used to have.Ā

Roses are enjoying the rain here. Almost everyone of them has new buds in spite of the blackspot and mildew; I had deadheaded them after the heatwave. Bordure abricot

My poor rose had just started to recover from the heat and then yesterday we had a bad storm with wind and hail, so now most of them are totally defoliated and got some damaged canes.
Anyway, last year I bent a very stiff can of my HT Nostalgie (with a bamboo) and that cane produced many short lateral with flowers on the tips of them all.

This is one reason I like Barkarole - when not blasted by strong sun, it's the best, dark, velvety red I have.Ā Proper Boudoir, Bond-lipstick, Darker-than-Blood red. Not a hint of pink or purple there; perhaps a touch of blue. It's not an easy colour to find in plants.
