I think you and Julia will be very happy together @dabolem!Â
I’ve not been wowed by all the new Delbard roses I’ve tried @WhereAreMySecateurs, many are ‘modern hybrid tea’ in character, even when they class them as a floribunda or shrub, with a high ratio of bush to bloom. So far Folle de Courtisane is like that and ‘ground cover’ rose Avalanche Abricot is stiff and awkward in habit and more a reluctant drizzle than an avalanche. Souvenir de Marcel Proust is the oldest cultivar and by far the most impressive of the three. I reckon those offered by Trevor White are probably a good bet, as they’ve doubtless picked the best of the bunch.
Massive and prolonged rainstorm again yesterday evening - OK, enough for now! I’m trying to paint and erect a section of fence but keep getting rained off.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Must have rained while we were away, the water butts are full and the lawn is turning green again, everything perked up. Just going to check on the plot and hope the pond has managed to catch some raindrops.
Lovely bunch of roses on The Generous Gardener. Best it's been this year, thriving in the shade! Except the usual leaf discolouration which you can see behind. It's blooming well.
Lady of Shalott great all-round. Just cut some sawfly scars and larvae off
@WhereAreMySecateurs .. no more roses for me this year, I'll just have to enjoy all of yours and others..
Well, just to say cheerio to one and all, and thanks for all your company on Roses these past few years, but I'm off for a bit now, don't want anyone thinking I've got ill or something if you don't see my name for some time.
Do take care, hope you'll keep the threads alive, and enjoy your roses !... xx
