@Marlorena thank you - would a liquid seaweed feed be OK? I don't know too much about the different types of plant food, mainly just about the NPK ratio, but I have read that seaweed feeds have more trace nutrients in them.Â
@BlueBirder ...yes you can use that but I wouldn't use it all the time, only as an occasional boost. On a more regular basis, it's best to use Tomato fertilizer [I use Tomorite]... as roses need more potassium to boost flower production..
I gave the roses in the ground ten mins each with a hose and some have shot up a foot, pretty much overnight. Don't underestimate the power of a good watering on a rose, even when it isn't hot.*
*This is also a mental-note-to-self as I am a chronic under-waterer.
..an opening bloom on 'Bengal Crimson' today... about a week or so earlier than usual ...the blooms open flat out, then reflexing at unusual angles.. quite a rare rose, best grown as 'own root' which mine has become..
That looks interesting Marlorena. I've quite forgotten to check on my EduH which is on the outer side of the fence. Bin day tomorrow though so I'll have a look later.
My view from the seating area while enjoying tea. The rose in the pot is 'Amazing Day', highly recommended. And evening view towards the seating area, enthusiastic photobomber included.
Oh my so many posts to catch up on! ^^ Amazing and wonderful to see roses out. Mine are getting there but not quite…a glorious day in the garden though:
Lots budding here but no roses out yet... my japanese wisteria is right on the edge of buds opening too, exciting! Its covered and they are getting longer. Cartmanii (joe I think?) Clem about to open. I love this and its curly evergreen foliege. Pretty alpina clematis climbing my Sambucca black niger in flowers in the gap before its covered in leaves Lovely peach toned bed coming out, very pleased with peter nyssen bulb order here Lady of shalott climbing nicely, new early last year. Needs a tidy of a few branches sticking out but I trained a few stems horizontally and boy has it responded! Clematis x2 on left in bluey tones budding away.
