@Eustace cheers for the Eden pic.. I’ve received mine from Peter Beales .. just gotta wait for the gladioli to finish before I could get it in that slot..Â
Some stunning roses and gardens, I'm enjoying seeing them all on here. Just now in my garden is a bit like back in May when so many of your roses were in full bloom and mine hadn't started ( with the exception of Blush China, which is always early.) Eustacia Vye is proving slow to get going again after I pruned those long shoots back after flowering finished. I'll try pruning further back next winter. Natalie Nypels is exactly the same as when I dead-headed the first 'flush'. Not sure what it's waiting for! Ghislaine de Feligonde has carried on putting out new clusters of flowers, I'm very pleased with that, and Parkdirektor Riggers is producing fresh growth. Bonica is a reliable rose, very floriferous but tends to fall outwards with the weight of flower. This year I gave it extra TLC (possibly overdid the rose food?) and it has carried so many blooms on tall new branches as well as old. But too many of them have buried their faces in the grass, making mowing difficult and spoiling the effect of course. I may invest in a large 'lobster pot' support for this rose. Too many of your lovely roses to mention, but thanks to all who post the photos -- and give such good advice and honest appraisal.Â
must say the Hibiscus is looking prettier there Eustace..
@Nollie not much sun here.. overcast, rainy and windy.. but Thanks a Million from Styles seems to be doing what it is meant to do.. produce flowers constantly with an interesting colour/ texture of its new foilage.. I don't post about it much as I stopped sniffing it for fragrance.. I had mailed Styles team to update their site accordingly if possible.. sorta like a feed back..
Boscobel..
Celine Forestier..
Emily having a cupped bloom..
Natalija..
Elizabeth..
BM Sunshine..
Golden Celebration..
'Brown Hawker' (female) Dragon Fly on Gruss An Teplitz.. Did you know that their wing patterns hasn't changed since Jurassic period.. 250 million year old survivor...
Much, much improved version of Jubilee Celebration... holding on despite the rains.. not flopping like the first flush... did minimal pruning post first flush do the trick?
I wasn’t familiar with your stripy Thanks a Million @cooldoc so looked it up. The first site I clicked on said pleasant fragrance which to my mind means light, others say strong. Difficult to know if its you, the weather or exaggeration on the part of the seller. My Guy Savoy is only light/barely detectable but Trevor White describes it as strong 🤨 Maybe it has to be an old HP/once-bloomer to get a stripy rose with nose impact?

A literary-themed flower bed sounds excellent.Â

Guy Savoy goes darker and the stripes fade as the season progresses, shown here in May and then today:
Whereas Stormy Weather (not a stripy) develops some white markings in heat:
Wisley - another DA with a weak-neck.
The Churchill rose
And hibiscus have started flowering.

Is it more true red or pinkish red? Does it fade to fully pink?
