    ..well, there are thorns but not overly so,  mostly lower down for the bigger ones. Higher up they are smaller and spaced out, not numerous,  but they are there, and can catch..

    Lavender Lassie is glorious.

    Welcome @Veilchenblau, what beautiful roses you have, including your fabulous namesake of course and a colour scheme after my own heart. I love purple and lavender roses, but most don’t like my climate much, they turn varying shades of pink. Even Ebb Tide in part shade is a bright fuchsia here, so my white, purple and pink rose border is rather more pink than planned!

    Love Song keeps a good shade of lavender and might be a good pairing with Lady of Shallot, but I would be tempted to go for Rhapsody in Blue since you know you really want it 😊 Warm orange and purple/lavender really sing together I think.

    @Dabolem, Marlorena’s memory is correct, I tried Forever Royal but it hated the heat and humidity here. The delicate foliage burnt in sun, suffered from the whole range of fungal diseases and was very chlorotic. Needless to say, the few blooms I got were not purple!

    Thank you for those suggestions, I’ll   look those up. Love your rose pics, I especially like Lavender Lassie and Amazing Day (what a beauty). I have been admiring Buff Beauty too for a while.

    Thank you and it’s lovely to see your gorgeous roses. Not seen Claire Marshall before but it looks stunning.

    @Marlorena
    Thanks, I will try and get some more pics of the Snow Goose, it’s about to flower again. It actually flowers very well all summer.
    I am not normally a lover of apricot or orange roses, but you have described why I love Lady of Shallot perfectly..It’s the ‘shape shifting colours’ that I don’t seem to have seen on another rose. There’s just something fabulous about it. I was so tempted to put it in a large pot on my patio.
    My first instinct was that purple planting would go well with LoS, I hadn’t actually thought of whites with it but I do have Margaret Merill and Claire Austen out the front so it probably would work very well.Thank you for the suggestion. I initially thought maybe pinks but now I’m thinking not… :#

    Maybe  the Desdemona could work next to it…that’s an idea.

    @Dabolem I will have a look at Phyllis Bride and Ghislaine, thank you.

    Thank you, now that’s  a thought…Rhapsody In Blue could work with the LoS …I’ll have a think and look. Will also look at Love Song. :)

    Yes, Amazing Day is extraordinarily beautiful. Both cooldoc and edhelka have posted fabulous pics of her on this thread.

    I have Tranquillity and Birthday Girl on either side of the Lady of Shalott. Regretting it a bit as none of them has much scent.
