I'm being a hog now, sorry Some front garden heroes:
Stephanie d'Ursel.Ā I have nothing bad to say about this rose. I had to stake it a bit but only because it was hanging over a new potted rose, I would have left it otherwise.Ā It would have been a good candidate for a cream colour-buffer rose I am after but I can't buy the same rose twice when there are so many. Front garden progress.Ā Penelope at the rear, a rose I don't appreciate enough.Ā Like @Lizzie27 I have staking issues.Ā I tied the crazy cane to a single metal stake to stop it bashing the window.Ā Yellow is Ambassador Nogami, a lovely scented yellow.Ā Wish I could get closer to it but I will let it get as big as possible to maximise the yellow impact.Ā It didn't grow in that uneven way, it was my pruning.Ā A lone Munstead Wood bloom in front.Ā Chateau de Munsbach in the centre determinedly not flowering and at the very front near the canes (not flowering) a tiny new yellow recruit, Athens (or Clear Cover), that I found at Trevor Whites. I always post these two but I'm very fond of them.Ā Lark Ascending and Flanders.Ā I allowed Flanders to grow bigger this year to better compliment LA.Ā It is shaped a bit like a crab with its claws in the air, can you see it?Ā In the pot is Julia Child which I very much hope will look like the ones always shown on this thread.Ā Don't worry, it is not staying in the tiny pot next year
@FledglingCottageGardener Beautiful roses! Did you check for labels at the bottom of the plants? Iāve managed to find labels, buried under ground, on a few of my roses when weeding/mulching them. Good luck:)
Boscobel from me today. I am still waiting for the majority of my roses to get goingā¦
(clockwise) Super Trouper, Summer Song, Lady of Shalott, Susan Williams-Ellis, Palais Royale, The Pilgrim. Eustacia Vye, Queen of Sweden, Ulmer Munster, Roald Dahl, Rosa de Rescht, Prague.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
@FledglingCottageGardener, just wanted to say welcome to the Rose thread. I'm afraid I'm no expert so couldn't positively identify your roses but there are many more experienced growers on the site and someone will be able to help I'm sure.Ā

Perennial Blue is coming out all over and is simply smothered in insect life.š Smells wonderful, too.
Hope you are feeling better, Fire.
