Good Morning Rubee, SGL & Bluebells,
Rubee Have you any news on your boiler part? Hoping you’ll have that all fixed soon especially while it’s being so cold,
SGL I’m so glad you mentioned birthday cards as its reminded me I have one to send, the price of stamps is shocking! OH is well thank you, he has managed to avoid catching the virus from us 😅
Bluebells We do have all these fun jobs to chose from 😊

Good morning Chive, Ruby and SGL. Get the hair dryer out Chive - works like magic. When I do my freezer the problem is trying to make sure I've got the ice packs frozen in time and storing the small amount of frozen food I may still have in the freezer safely. Good luck with your endeavours.
SGL, I swear by them. Great phone. Tell you what, that is a sneaky move by the P.O. isn't it? I liked it when stamps just said First or Second class because you could stock up before any hike in price and use them at the festive season. I saw that about the introduction of a barcode on the stamps last year. I have been saving commemorative stamp covers for years but I think I may have to stop now as they are becoming prohibitively expensive and I have just heard from VM that my monthly payment has gone up by £5. Time to look around I think as I am out of contract with them.
p.s. meant to say, RosieBB, I save all of Lily's loose hair at this time of year and I have a special hanger from RSPB built for the purpose and I put this out for the little birds now as they are starting to nest build. Last season you may remember me mentioning that it was gone in no time. Might have to have a hunt round in the garage now!

Good Morning Hazel, sorry to hear it’s so chilly for you this morning. I still have a faint positive result showing, but the guidelines are that you are no longer infectious after 10 days so I should be safe to others after today. I’ll be masked up anyway just as an extra precaution,
LB I don’t have a hair dryer anymore unfortunately, but the food has been well packed and placed in a cold room so I hope it keeps frozen until later 🤞or we will have a lot on the menu tonight 😋😀
Rubee That is very good news about your OH and I’m pleased to hear the boiler will be repaired soon 😊
Bluebells That is a great idea for using Alfie’s fur, what lovely snuggly nests the birds will have 🤗

Morning all. It's a sunny but very chilly day here. Think I'll get wrapped up and try to do a couple of hours in the garden - it's all looking a bit of a mess with lots of ferns etc collapsed after frosts and leaves everywhere after my pruning sessions. Hopefully a few sessions with the secateurs and rakes will make a big impact.

Ante - thoughts are with you and your family today - hope everything goes ok. I had also not heard of a Danube Wave cake but it sounds so delicious I shall definitely be looking out for it when we next go to Germany.

Rubee - glad to hear there is some improvement for your OH and fingers crossed for the boiler.

LB - how lovely to see your dad's uniform again. Many of our friends were in the RAF and I think it's my favourite forces rig. When did your dad leave the RAF? I seem to remember he was active during the 50's and 60's so I'm guessing his uniform must be quite old.

Good luck to all those tackling domestic chores etc. I had a bit of a session over the weekend so am allowed time out to play today🙂

    Afternoon everyone,
Topbird Hope you were able to get out and do some of the tasks in the garden you wanted to do. I too decided to brave the cold and collect up some leaves, the Photinia is dropping loads at the moment they stand out against the grass…well I call it grass! It’s more weeds 🙄 bins out ready for collection tomorrow,

Hiya Chive - it's chilly in that breeze isn't it? I'm about to have a well earned cuppa - think I've been outside for a total of about 4 hours today.

Wish our garden bin was being collected tomorrow, but it was only emptied on Friday so another 10 days to wait😬  I've nearly filled it with weeds, twigs, and tough leaves not suitable for composting. The ground was too wet to turn the soil and a bit wet to walk on so I've only been able to tackle the most urgent jobs - but that's had the biggest impact, so a good result.

  • Top bird enjoy your tea.  I’m just about to make one.  Some jobs started and had some sleep and time to make tea.  It was bitter out.  When I went back to the surgery for my appointment I suddenly had cramp and had to limp through, just momentary.

    Hello all.

LB, I'm not sure when I'll be returning with my car, depends when OH gets the go-ahead for his op. He's seeing the lung consultant tomorrow. I will be babysitting for Daughter 2 next week in France.

We went to a GC this morning for potting compost, grit for the gravel bed and rose fertiliser. Such a lovely choice of spring flowering plants, enough to make your mouth water, but not much room left here.

It's been sunny but very chilly here today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
