    Good morning all.

Hazel, Happy Birthday to your Mother. What a grand and respectable age. Wish her all the best.

Debs, Happy Birthday to your daughter.

Chive, I'm glad that your son is now well.Β

LB, I really don't have any plans for weekend. Only to bake cake for Sunday lunch (Danube waves).

Weather is perfect to stay in and do nothing. Wind and snow, again. Yesterday was cold, but at least calm and sunny. It's time for tea.

    Morning all,

Your weather sounds grim @Ante30 - ideal for staying indoors.Β

We've had David Jason overnight. I hadn't clocked it was going to be that cold and have a couple of things that I would've brought in for the night. Hopefully, it won't cause them too much damage. A dry and sunny few days is currently forecast. We'll see.

Felt a bit of a chump last night when I tuned in for GW - obviously hadn't read the other thread properly :oΒ

Good morning Ante and Biglad. I was awake at 03:30 this morning - watching the paralympics. This very early wake up was not deliberate but at least there was something good to watch on TV for a change.

Thanks you for the tip T'Bird but it was Ofgem who directed me to the EHU, which is a sub-section of the Citizen's Advice Bureau and I have to say that the lady dealing with my case is absolutely on the ball.
Hazel, it was good to hear that your Mum was chirpy on the phone. An amazing lady for sure. Sorry about the cracked window but I am pleased that you are happy with the job done. I bet you were glad to get the house warmed through after the workmen had left. Tell you what Hazel, you are facing some fierce competition from other painters what with Janet having a go at her cellar and utilities room.
Whoop whoop Chive - great news about your son and as Hazel said its your turn next. I bet he felt better after his haircut too.
I hope that you enjoyed your rag rug working Yvie. My great aunts used to make those. Its a fascinating skill. I just do the wool ones.
Biglad, resist the temptation to chip your NN. He's not worth the hassle and he'd only gum up the works! Is it a R.A.T.F. day?
Ante, I agree with Biglad, stay indoors - except when you have to take Max out for his walk of course. I must look up Danube Waves cake - oh my goodness I just Googled it and it sounds delicious. Please pass a piece down the tunnel!

Not today @Ladybird4 - I had to insist on a Saturday off to accommodate the tree stump chap as I couldn't be sure what time he'll arrive/finish. On duty tomorrow and Tuesday afternoon though.

I hadn't heard of that cake either - looks marvellous @Ante30. I've put on a few kilos just looking at it ;)Β

    Good morning Biglad and LB.

I'll tek your advice and stay indoor. Just popped outside to refill bird feeders and it's cooold.

LB, this cake is one of my favorite. Not hard to make, but delicious.

Biglad, indeed it's tasty, but one piece is quite enough. It's recipe from Habsburg era, they were obsessed with cherries πŸ˜‚.

I think I'd try a second slice! Black Forest gateau has always been my favourite @Ante30, so maybe I was a Hapsburg in a previous life ;)
