How stupid to put the disabled people's bungalows down steps. Hope the bin lorry can get to them though and the bins don't have to be carted up the steps. Some people have no common sense, seemingly.
and the councils all over the place seem to employ them in the planning dept
The architect and the chief of the planning dept seem to think this is a flat site until we pointed it out. They run parallel to my garden. The top of my garden is 5m higher than the patio. We are up to the fifth set of plans. Kids with lego could do a better job.
I'm sure there must be some sensible people in planning depts, somewhere, but in our experiences in Derbyshire and in SW Scotland (better not mention the council they might be sensitive souls) we had yet to find them. My dealings with them are done with thank God, cos my nearest pavement is 4 miles away.
I'm getting annoyed with language changing again. The dictionary method now seems to be 'enough people are using this word incorrectly so we'll change its meaning to suit'. I found it annoying that people were using the phrase 'revert back to you' in emails, but apparently we have to accept that they're not idiots because there are enough people doing it to make it correct.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

using O in a phone number, rather than 0 seems acceptable even though it's a letter and not a number. I hate it.
We have just reminded them that as a major development (38 houses) the new Environment Bill 2021 has been passed into Law. They have to put in plans to lift the biodiversity by 10%. As they haven't got a clue what species live in that site, that is going to be fun. We however know there are at leat 15 Biodiversity Action Plan species, as well as rare moths, Tawny owl, woodpeckers, goldcrests, frogs ,toads, newts, dragonflies, foxes, hedgehogs, a roe deer doe (probably pregnant) and 5 sorts of Bat , including Leislers bat. Leislers bat is classed as near threatened , less than 10, 000 in England. Now if you have a brownfield disused factory site, putting in a few hedges and a couple of trees will do it. When you have the epicentre of biodiversity for the area, then rip out 300 tonnes of trees, that is going to take some doing.
