Do you think we can get away with discussing non gardening subjects that really matter for the next few days?

Still no adverts. It must take a while to notify the advertisers and cancel contracts. This must've been in the pipeline for quite some time.

It looks like it. I am so sorry @b3. I wish I had joined here years ago, but I think the feeling of being left in thin air would be worse. Why have we only got 7 days before we can no longer interact? It is no time at all. Nearly spring as well....awful timing.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

Bottom line is that this site is a business, not social services.   If the forum brings no revenue or monetary value of any kind to the owners, then it's not fulfilling any function, as far as they are concerned.
I agree with what a few other posters have said, this has been in the pipeline for quite some time.   But the news was broken in such a coldly calculating way.  And I come full circle to my opening  remark....it's a business.
From what I've seen of Gardeners Corner when I've looked in, it is, at least, very well moderated, which this one, to it's detriment,  never seems to have been.
