Coming through Nottingham on the inner relief road, past a load of the giant shed type shops, there was a dead deer at the side of the road. Totally unexpected, I thought it a dog at first. I've also seen a few dead badgers, it seems to be the time they go wandering where they shouldn't.
We get alot of dead deer on the side of the roads in East Anglia, sadly ... but there are a lot of them around. Over the years I've noticed that there are more dead deer and badgers around the time when we change the clocks forward an hour ... wildlife activity goes by the daylight/night time hours ... they're caught unawares when there's suddenly more traffic on the roads early in the morning.

I've been trying to convince myself to splash out on a new trail camera. My current one is now 10 years old and the video is iffy so I can only really use it for photos. I found a good deal on one but I'm still unsure about spending the money. The kicker is that a new one actually costs less than filling the car up with fuel at the moment
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
OH has lost the cable from the solar panel to my webcam and has yet to do anything about replacing it. We never saw any nocturnal wildlife no matter where we placed it but these days I just want to know who or what is lurking around the hen house and if we have any hedgehogs.
I think badgers and wild boar would be a bit obvious by other means than the camera.

A ranger friend let me borrow one of theirs for 2 weeks and I'm still being a dithering curmudgeon about buying one. I can be a real skinflint with myself sometimes. Except when it comes to plants of course.
