@KT53 I was once at a Women in Business event and the question was asked "what are you most afraid of?" I was sitting there trying to think of something and couldn't, except maybe my big mother motor bike. The answers shocked me and have stayed with me since. Almost without exception those strong independent women said they were afraid of being alone. Really? Wtf? I just don't get it.
@plant pauper I suppose the follow up question is "What do you mean by 'being alone'"? Are you scared to go out by yourself, or do you mean you are concerned about being lonely away from the work environment? Many people who are 'driven' in the work environment seem to have little time to develop personal relationships.
From what I could see in their relationships they would put up with any amount of dog's abuse rather than not have 'a man' in their lives. Ridickilis! Speaking of men, there are lots of gay rugby players and associated roles. I don't have a gay icon but if I did it would be Nigel Owens. Now that's a man!
@plant pauper there are gay rugby teams, not just gay players. The point I was trying to make, in a horribly ham fisted way, is that gay relationships would seem to be commonplace in the women's game. In that scenario a breakup between players could have a knock on effect for the team harmony, particularly if a new relationship is formed with another team member. It certainly isn't all sweetness and light in the men's game, as pointed out earlier with mention of John Terry, but I genuinely don't think men as as emotional as women in most workplaces. Again a generalisation, but men have a bust up and it's soon forgotten. Women have a minor disagreement with somebody and it's brought back up 20 years later.
I agree with your comment about Nigel Owens who allegedly said of one line out throw "I'm straighter than that throw".
