Maybe we could all say that our messy sheds are art? Could be a new excuse for not tidying up anyway :D.

For anyone thinking the subject worthy of further pondering

but again, this looks at what art is, not at what it isn’t, which was the subject we started out with here

I always think that the washed pots arrangement on my draining board is worthy of the Turner prize😂🤣

For a start, try taking photos from different angles. You never know what you might start.

A new design for kitchen wallpaper or flooring?

Were you happy with your daughter's bed being surrounded by condoms and lubricants, @rowlandscastle444, because T.Emin's was?
How can you lie there and think of England

You could even design a set of tiles that forms a picture, such as was done for our bathroom (not our choice, I hasten to add). But for a kitchen!

She was too young for that,  that’s the mistake I made then,  I could have been famous.

Probably best to just accept that anything is Art if the person creating it deems it to be so ?  Whether you personally consider it to be Art - which would depend on your interpretation of the word - is up to the individual.
Not much different from a garden ( or a house or anything someone has created) - what one person sees or feels or understands, another may not.
I never understood what Emin was trying to say about the unmade bed or whoever did the pile of bricks or the animal submerged in preservative but that was simply because none of those exhibits were of interest to me and I didn't feel it worth my while to try and work out what was behind it.  Others may have seen those exhibits in a completely different light, grasped the meaning behind them and enjoyed seeing them.
As a keen photographer some 40 years ago and doing my own developing and printing, I still have photos I am pleased with, are technically good, mean something and have been admired by others. Art ?  Who can say ?
Interesting discussion tho maybe not Curmudgeonly - that's what I like about this forum - makes you think a bit at times :)
