Wow - reading these posts has made me realise how lucky I am! I was referred for a hip replacement in June and given an operation date in September, which I couldn't make but have rearranged to October. I guess it just depends where you live.
Is anyone suffering from the yellow wind warning? It seems like fairly normal weather here. Not great for July but nothing that unusual. We've had the odd strong gust but nothing even close to damaging.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
The person I mentioned earlier is seriously considering going private. Losing pretty much all one's mobility at a relatively young age (mid-50s), being pushed from pillar to post and then being told it could be another 4 years' wait is very demoralising, particularly when the person isn't even close to state pension age and wants to be active, work, pay tax and NI etc.

The poplar is tossing about a bit but I've seen worse. I suppose with the leaves being firmly on the trees, there's a bit more chance of them being blown over. Hence the warning maybe.
Lyn,yes, you can easily be "struck off"a GP listing, and black listed. You have to be so careful. Changing surgery isn't an option at the moment, they are all chocka. Last year, the "nice" receptionist at ours, said go home book appointment online. I registered, did all the, email, username, password, then as soon as I tried to log on,it says "hummm, there seems to be a problem, you don't appear to be registered with this practice, would you like to choose from the menu"? No, because I have been with this practice for 12 years. So I went in, I put all that in on my phone, showed it to the NOT nice receptionist, she pushed my phone across the counter at me. Said she didn't know what that was,it's not their site, inspite of the surgery name etc being right there! I walked out, because I knew I was going to loose it!

I believe we have a yellow wind warning here in Kent. It is certainly blowing everything around, and, since we didn't get the usual June drop of apples, I imagine this wind will do the job. Clustered most of our pots together for safety. We may find one or two have decided to relocate in other parts of the garden - but I'm not too fussed about that.
Yellow warning here too, although that is the lowest warning level. Very squally weather, with sudden changes from bright and breezy to persisting down and blowing pretty hard. We've certainly had much stronger winds here in the past, but generally in late Autum and Winter when the trees are leafless.
