And around here, my OH remarked on the fall this morning. The two 30-40ft birch trees outside the house don't look at all happy and are setting seed again, a sign of doom perhaps? The neighbours' newly planted, very expensive birch trees are also turning yellow and dropping. They are also being hammered by these strong winds but fortunately they have been well staked.
In retrospect, this made me laugh... shopping in Limerick yesterday, I went into Oxfam to see if they had anything to supplement my wardrobe. Most of the merchandise was too revealing or horrible colours/patterns, but I found one rail where the clothes looked more my kind of thing. It was a few minutes before I noticed it was labelled "Vintage"...
I realise I'm over 27, but it hadn't occurred to me that my dislike of orange-and-pink blouses might put me in the vintage (= little old lady??) category! Of course, I'm still 18 inside, most of the time...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
So am I @Liriodendron. I popped into our local charity shop last week as I needed more button through tops in a hurry (couldn't lift my arms). Bought the only one I liked in pastel shades but will have to take it back as it didn't fit when I got it home. This week of course I feel better and mobility has come back.
It said P&P would depend @B3 but I didn't investigate further.
Apart from the interesting fastener arrangement the bag itself is very simple inside with minimal pockets and would be a complete pain to get into when your portable trilled or you needed a hanky on the move.
I'll stick to making my own with made to measure interior pockets and a useful external one too.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I can't abide a bag with blingy bits and goldy bits are the worst. Oh and things dangling off them. A friend said she judged a handbag on whether she could comfortably get a bottle of wine and a copy of The Guardian into it. For me it's light weight and not too many pockets to lose things in and only functional metal if absolutely necessary. While we're on the subject, why do so many women's jackets not have an inside pocket - essential for security ? Some don't even have pockets at all.
Don't like blingies either@B3 but I do like practical so I need pockets where I can easily find my phone, cheque book, comb and lip salve then space for a purse and a pack of tissues. Sometimes I need a bigger bag with a space for my camera. I can make both quite easily now and for a fraction of the price I last paid for a good bag.
I don't put inside pockets in jackets as they spoil the drape and I have pockets in my bag/frock/trousers/jeans.......

But did you have to pay postage?
