I was horrified when I discovered my future mother in law ironed socks, underwear, towels and tea towels. In fact anything she washed she ironed. My iron has an occasional airing, I usually have to dust off the cobwebs etc. before I can use it. I grew up in a family run guest house and eventually became a Home Economics teacher so feel I have got housework into perspective. But I do enjoy a well ironed white shirt, bed linen or handkerchief.
Last summer I thought I would help the missus by hanging out the washing. I put my shirts onto hangers before clipping the hanger to the line, on the basis that they wouldn't have any creased in them and therefore not need ironing. I checked and they had dried beautifully, and totally crease free. Sadly, I didn't think to remove them from the line. Next thing I see is the shirts stuffed in the laundry basket with everything else. I gave up after that.
I'm feeling curmudgeonly because people are taking pot shots at each other on one thread and my gardening question has slipped down the pages into oblivion.

What have I missed?
What have I missed?
That's mean @B3. I seem to miss all the good stuff.
I'll pass on that, and just sulk.
Supposed to be intermittently wet and warm here today but we've only had a dribble and now it's cold and blowy. Change of plans then.
