Have apple tree prices shot up for some reason? I've been looking around locally for a Katy and the one I've finally found is £65 for a fairly small tree. I imagine Brexit/inflation is to blame but it's about twice what I paid for the last one. My current tree is cropping well but has canker so I need to make plans to replace it as the apples are the best for drying. It's a long term payback plan at that price though.
Cheapest one I came across was £22 https://www.fruit-trees.com/buy-katy-apple-tree-online.html

Re apple trees … Is it the time of year? New gardeners suddenly getting the urge to plant and needing potted trees. I bet they’re cheaper in the autumn … bare root trees even more so.

Thanks. They don't give any information on sizes but I'll contact them to see what they offer. Even with postage that's half the price of buying locally.
It could be time of year but I couldn't find one over the winter. I'm after potted because it's going into my parents' orchard and I have to leave them in charge of watering it most of the time. They've been known to under-water cacti  :#

My oldest boy got a really good seashell from the Tooth Fairy for his last tooth so don't accept any less.

  • I was already missing nine teeth due to falls caused by my epilepsy. Losing another is frustrating, as my denture won't sit right.

As they’re in full flower right now I have read many online comments about forget me nots. What baffles me is the frequency of the spelling forget me knots. Is there not even a moment’s consideration that the name is an exhortation not to forget someone? And, having seen the correct spelling, do the folk who write it incorrectly not think ‘Well, one of us is wrong’?

Similarly I often see ‘know’ written as ‘no’. Is this text speak like ur for your or is it just a very elementary spelling error?
