OH's hip replacement has been cancelled for the 6th time. Too many Covid and flu patients in the hospital. He has been waiting over 3 years.
That's bad. I'm hoping that mine will go ahead as it is at a private hospital although NHS funded. I have an pre-operation appointment on Wednesday although the operation isn't scheduled until next month.
That's the best typo/autocorrect error I've seen in a while @Obelixx . Thanks for cheering me up! And I hope you get your slipped disk sorted out - that sounds painful.

Yes @Pauline7 and JennyJ. Typos are my forte - well, one of them. Unlike OH I have to wander all the way back up the garden whereas he can just point himself at the nearest compost heap!
Agree, @Allotment Boy. It does seem to have gone too far now.

Frankly, BusyLizzie, OH should be having his op done at a private hospital but paid for by the NHS. And he should have been offered alternative hospitals, even if out of your immediate area, where there were shorter waiting lists. Something has gone so badly wrong here, you need to book a meeting with the Trust General Manager to ask for an explanation and a speedy solution. This is beyond ridiculous.

@Ergates what you describe is exactly what happened for me. I was given 4 options and selected the one nearest to home. It's the hospital where I had operations on both knees when I had private medical cover through work, and is only 3 miles from where I live. At least one of the options made very interesting reading as its waiting time then was showing as 176 weeks! Looking online, the average wait time for NHS funded hip replacement is around 111 weeks. If mine goes ahead it will be 52 weeks from my appointment with the consultant. When I saw the consultant he said 18 months so this is considerably quicker than he forecast.
Oh @Busy-Lizzie that is terrible news. I feel awful saying this but I saw the Consultant last Monday and I have my pre-op assessment tomorrow and op in two weeks time for my total hip replacement. Such a shame he is not eligible to have it done over here.
